I have had quite a selection of cars over the years and I can hand on heart say that the Rover 75 was the best all-rounder out of all of them.
No rust or body issues of any sort. Classy looks both outside and inside. Very reliable (in CDT form at least). Cheap parts (front and rear Mintex discs and pads for £80). Frugal (in CDT guise). Quiet. It was also more comfortableon the road than my P38 with its air suspension, though only because being tall, anything that does make the P38 move is amplified that little bit.
If I were to sell the P38 I'd buy another decent Rover 75 in a heartbeat.

Ok time for a not too enthralling update on the 75. Nothing really much to report it has ploughed on with weekly use with just general maintenance. Had to have a brake hose for the MOT and I put on new front discs and pads a few weeks ago. It hadn't even been washed for a few months but gave ita spruce up for the Tollymore MG/Rover day last Sunday. Some really nice machines on show and had a really nice couple of MGF's parked beside me. Heres a few photos of the old bus from earlier in the year. 20180503_185115 by PETER WILSON, on Flickr 20180428_161054 by PETER WILSON, on Flickr And here's one of the nice MGFs from last Sunday. Bought for £600 but has had a few quid spent I would say 20180902_150218 by PETER WILSON, on Flickr Also one of the rarest 75's. Only seven made in this colour scheme and apparently its the only one known to survive. 20180902_153912 by PETER WILSON, on Flickr So no car buying over the last year as house and Minor needed money spending on tnem. Could fancy another MGF as a project for when the Minor is finished. Was tempted to go and look at a cheap Rover 600 but have so far resisted in fact if I hadn't bought the Minor I would have bought an excellent Rover 800 Coupe that was for sale at a car show earlier in the year. Sorry for the long post but that's me up to date. Peter

Hi Dan. Yeah I noticed you had gotten rid of thw W202. They seem to have disappeared overnight although saw a really tidy white one the other night. The W211 I'm sure is a bit different. That's some work you and George are doing on the van.

I can talk myself into a lot of things Dan. Found myself looking at an advert for a Saab 96 project which has thankfully sold. There's also a 70k 190e for sale here and was tempted to go and have a looksee. Its £2000 but I'd then have to sell the 75 and not ready to do that so have decided to give it a miss. Hands full with the Minor at the moment.

I keep trying to find a replacement for my mother's 75 CDT Tourer, and absolutely nothing in our 2k budget does the job as well all round as our 500 quid 75. I think they'll hold on to it until insurance won't cover it anymore

They are a nice place to be especially with leather. The trims around the door handles always fall off but apart from that the interior is holding up well. They don't sell too easily inless they are diesel at least in Northern Ireland that seems to be the case. Hanging onto mine for the forseable future.
