I recently acquired a Lexus LS400 from a friend who was leaving the country and needed the car gone at short notice. I got it for a very, VERY good price, and it included both the standard wheels and some lovely O.Z. things too. It has 150k miles on the clocks and an MOT until June 2017. A few minor electrical gremlins, the worst being that the heated seats don't work! (OH NO!) With the O.Z. wheels: After I put the standard wheels on, to keep the O.Z. ones free of winter grot / salt. Considering how cheap and scabby this barge is, I'm probably not going to invest much in it (besides petrol). It's a lot of fun to waft about in though! Luckily I don't need to use it to commute, as I live less than a mile from my work, so I walk / cycle. However, I also have two other cars (a Citroen Xantia and an E36 316i), I think the Xantia will have to go very soon, as I don't need that many!

These old barges are A1 - most awesome car for the money that you can buy! We did a charity rally in one last year. Cut the exhaust half way down and it sounded like a NASCAR!
If it hasn't had it done already, you can modify the airbox to give it a mega intake noise! Look it up:

Besides an 80's Peugeot, I've never found anything more comfortable to sit in than my LS. Here's to many relaxed, well engineered (and slightly expensive!) miles

Too bad prices on the continent are a bit higher than in the UK and I'd need a '90 or '91 unless I want to pay +1000€'s in taxes each year...

I won't say how cheap I got the car for, but it's all but disposable, due to me making an offensively low offer to a friend who was leaving the country and needed rid of it ASAP. I got it just because I wanted to try a V8! I plan to take it to track days at Knockhill too!

I had a 1990 model with all the trimmings, albeit in Toyota Celsior form. Was a great car and I could get 900km to a tank on long distance drives. But I certainly wouldn't have taken it to a track day. The air suspension is far too wafty and expensive to fix if you break something. Unless you swap for coil overs.

I also have one as a daily! Took it to the 'ring recently, did much better than I expected and shocked a few 944s...

I did the airbox mod. Well, sort of. I figured I could just do this: because the clasp around the edge of the airbox holds the filter in place quite nicely without the front cover. This means it's also totally reversible without me doing any harm to the front cover. It sounds just the same at low revs / normal driving, but engaging power mode and stomping it is hilarious! In the photo, I've moved the duct from the grille out of the way. It's back in place now though, not removed. House, that looks amazing on the 350Z wheels. A bit low for my tastes, but damned nice all the same!

Just dropping in to say I'll be taking this to Knockhill on Sunday.
If you want to come along and point and laugh, you're more than welcome.

I already want an LS400. Then I watched that video!!!
Looks great, those O.Z. wheels suit it really well. It's just a shame coilovers are so expensive for them.
