Been building a mx250 gto kit for a while now Its a loose replica of a Ferrari 250 gto over a mk1 mx5. Just to further confuse things, I'm building a (non existant in real life) convertible version photo uploadingfree upload image

Are you using R33 rear lights?

This looks like it will be very cool! Are you going to leave the screen standard? I always thought this kit would look perfect with a lower speedster style windscreen. Would make it about as practical as a chocolate teapot though...
Keep up the great work!

Yes they are skyline lights I have grafted in, well spotted.
I bought some chrome wrap, I was gonna try it on the windscreen surround.

Bookmarked for sure! Very interested to see this take shape.
Although I have to say that the arches in that last picture (that pursuaded you) have lost a lot of the style from the inspirational ferrari picture above. So I hope yours will be more like the ferrari ones...

No a 60 profile would never fit under the arches Closest I can get is 215 45 15 but they are expensive and its still a half inch stretch, and no garage around here will do stretches

I saw one of these kits in the flesh for the first time a few weeks ago at the Bicester Heritage Centers Sunday Scramble, Very nice looking thing it was too, The only problem area with these is the shape of the wheel arches and the style of wheel the guy had chosen, that in my opinion don't really work with the rest of the car. That said keep up the good work.

15" wheels are never going to be straightforward re tyres, that's why the Pantera guys fit 17" wheels. With kits like these the wheel/tyres can be the difference between it looking rubbish or fantastic. Have a look on here, something like these would probably fill the arches; www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/255-45vr15-michelin-mxw.htmlAs I said, not cheap!

Nice wheels, could do with a bit more sidewall though. Originals were 16 inch with 190/80/16 I think.

I had these tyres (205,50,15) sat in my garage unused from another project so they cost me nothing.
I didn't want to ruin the gearing by increasing the rolling radius
