Well after selling my early green mgf before the Summer arrived I knew I'd made a mistake Some people hate these little cars, and I was in that camp until I tried one I missed the green one and thanks to the Mrs for giving me a £500 budget I followed this 51 plate 56,000 miler, it was 10 miles from our place so I popped down yesterday Advertised at £600, I checked at the mot history and made an offer and picked it up today at £400 Such a lot of car for pennies really Needs an o/side headlight and a scratch on one wing doing but that's about it,oh and a suspension pump up, no rot in the usual places and runs very well I got it home and removed those awful chequered flags, on lost one tiny bit of lacquer and the car looks better without them, a good clean up and she's looking good, will now spend the winter months going over it, and then put on the road around March time

I hadn't considered one of these till you green one came up for sale. I was next in the queue to look at it but the guy ahead of me bought it. I ended up spending £900 on a 2001 Wedgewood SE. It's been my daily ever since and I absolutely love it so thanks Dan for advertising your old one.

I was saying to the wife only yesterday that I really fancy another (this time working) MGF!
Mine will be red with the 16" 'Abingdon' wheels.

Two F's in one year you really have been smitten. Vood buy for 4 notes and even has a wind deflector which must be about£100 on its own. Looks like the suspension needs repressurised. Hope you haven't got any loose fillings if its on the bump stops!! Easy job as long as you can find someone with a working pump. Certainly improves the ride. Good luck with her Dan.

Thankfully my usual mechanic has a pump and did it for a tenner. Mind you had to listen to him grumbling about how awful Fs are. His mate then outed him and said what's he moaning about sure he's just bought a cheap TF!!

Where are you Dan? I've got a hydrolastic pump from when I rallied a Metro. You're welcome to borrow it if you want to DIY the suspension.

They do get to you after a while. (Thinks - must update the 'Golden Shot!' thread....) Here's my beastie with another beastie. I have fitted an RPS bonnet with additional vents to the Shot! - helps a lot with high speed stability.

That does look very tidy Dan. What are the cills like. My last one's were starting go and the MOT tester was doing his best to make them give way during the test.

Good stuff. Nothing better on a crisp dry winters day than to go out for a blast in your ragtop. Get well wrapped up and heater on full blast and away you go.
