Love the idea of this,
I`ve noticed quite a few slammed Honda CRV`s online and there is one parked on a drive
near me covered in slime with bricks in front the wheels,
Before going to knock on there door to ask about it I checked the road tax bracket £500 per year!!!!!

The early ones shouldn't be that much to tax? I had a virtually new one in 2002, fabulous car, extremely capable on all surfaces, quick, comfortable and handled better than you would have thought. I previously had test driven a Freelander and, er, no.... I traded it in with 15,000 miles and it, according to the MOT check website, finally expired last year with over 178,000 miles on the clock. Not bad really. Deffo not 'Hairdressers cars' and well worth a look. |

Looking at the MK1 CRVs I've seen around the place, I think if one was planning to lower it you'd have to factor in a custom fabricated, floorpan-hugging exhaust, cos there's definitely a lot of low-hanging pipe on stock ones just waiting to be ripped from the car the second it gets near a speed-bump or kerb.
I like this one a lot (though maybe not the rear camber)

I had a 4.0 Cherokee for a while and I'm thinking disconnection of the front shafts and some stick and the addition of a snail on that low comp engine would be the shiz.
This thread is bad for my health.

Yup. 2WD or 4x4. Also Comanche pickups. In 2WD or 4x4, shortbed or long. 4 pot, V6 or inline 6, carbed or injected, petrol or diesel. RHD are about, but mega rare

My Forester has coilovers but if/when I go even lower, it will make speed bumps a major issue. At this height, it rides fine. Love your Foz. Mine is an older and shabbier Black SF5 (but has nice anthracite Impreza 18s) - but I plan to do some fun things with drop in the future if our plan to get a house with a garage comes off over the next few weeks. Did you do the coilies yourself? Teins? How much lower do you think it is from stock? I too don't want to go extreme to keep it usable so might go the Bugeye wagon shocks/sti springs route for less harshness.  |

It already had the Tein's on it when it was imported earlier this year. They are also top adjustable etc. Looking at others like mine without the coilies, I would say its about 75mm lower. the main thing I have to be careful with is the front bumper as it sits below all the kerbs in my area!

Great thread.
As a 2WD Tiguan driver and former MK2 CRV owner, I've often had these impure thoughts. In fact, I was only looking at BMW X1s last night thinking a slammed silver one with the black plastic would look awesome. Better than a normal 1-series.
The CRV we had was a 2.0 VTEC. Slam, tune to S2000 spec . . . what fun!

There was a factory fresh Series 1 Honda CRV on hydraulics at Ultimate Stance at the weekend.
Sadly it didn't go very low on full drop and probably coudl have run hardslammed at the height it rested at.
