Looks very clean. Don't think the vic check was about in the late 90's though? But not relevant nowadays anyway, condition over anything else for me, miles, mechanicals not relevant on an older motor.

yep, indeed you do! regarding the reservoir, He changed the rad shortly after as he thought it was blocked as the rad was the original, but it turned out to be the heater matrix which has all been sorted. Hope this helps.

never knew these were rare,(I Guess Most Sierra's are now though) they used to be pretty common around by me and on ebay a few years back. for some reason i think they where badge engineered GT's or the other way around. used to get frustrating looking for a proper XR4i and these would pop up in the search.

I had one of these. Timing chain needed replacing - not a big job. My hard work was undone by a transit that used my car to stop instead of its brakes. They are nice but the I4 engine is more thrashy than a pinto.

You could get an XR4x4 2.0i also.

Never new they made one of those , is it not just a 2.0i gls bascially ? Basicly yes but with differant seats, we had 3 on the company fleet back in the 90's, we got them cheap from a dealership in harpendon, they were sold to the company as clearance deals cos (we were told by the dealership) Ford ran out of the front parts for 2.0 4X4s so sold them off as 4is, no idea if it's really true but we had a 20+ year old relationship with the dealers and got all the "special offers" IE clearance vehicals, late reg'd motors ect, IE we still had new mk3 transits from them 3 years after the smiley came out.

I don't think so, then again, there is always room to come down with sensible offers, you can't go upwards on an advertised price? this guy has just bought the Hillman 'Green Goblin' Minx so there may be more to come off the price?

Didn't think they made a 4dr xr4i, or 2.0 for that matter. Was it the 'poverty' spec sort of thing?

I have no idea? maybe they had a few bits kicking around and made it up as they went along? Either way he has dropped the price as he has just bought something older. £2,200

What's the drivers seat and the rear arches like?
Photo's would be good.
Has the downpipe been off recently?

Price is now £2,200 rear arches were replaced about 5 to 10 years ago and are Mint, Drivers seat is Mint, downpipe has not been off, (not since it was last purchased) and i think he is going to stick it on that 'orrible' selling site, he has had too many people either turn up and umm & err or not turn up at all!

Engine bay looks tidy! Is it xr4i on the log book? They stopped making the 4i a few years before this and replaced with the 4x4, unless it's a late registration.
