Hi there, on offer is a 1996 Vauxhall Combo 1.4 petrol. This little Combo was purchased back in February this year for my wife’s business, she has recently bought a larger van so the Combo is surplus to requirement.
After we purchased this little van it had 101k on the clock, I changed the Cambelt, water pump, fanbelt oil and air filters and filled with new oil. The radiator was weeping so I also replaced the radiator and thermo switch, the old coolant was drained and replaced with correct pre-mixed anti-freeze/coolant from Euro Car Parts. All of this work was done to ensure this little van would be reliable as it was for my wife’s business and it has been reliable and never failed to start whatever the weather!
About the van itself, it has the 1.4 OHC 8v Petrol engine, these engines were widely used by Vauxhall in the Corsa and Astra and as such the parts are extensively available and are keenly priced which helps to keep the running costs down as there’s nothing complicated with these. It has a 5 speed manual gearbox, no PAS or electric windows, however it does have a drivers airbag and central locking and new hub caps.
This van has had some welding done in the past (expected for a van that is 20 years old) however the previous welding has been done to a good standard and the MOT man was happy with the previous repairs. It has some seam rash on the N/S and a few dings here and there, a good once over with T Cut would help to revitalise the paint to be honest. The rear bumper has a few marks but isn’t split anywhere, both door mirrors are in good order with no cracks. All lights and wipers are working correctly; it has a CD player which works intermittently (I think it’s got a loose wire connection). The front seats are not split/torn anywhere and the bolsters are good for the age of the van. The blower works on all settings and the heater works very well too. The rear load area is presentable, we fitted a thin layer of board on the floor and covered with a piece of vinyl to make is easy to wipe clean if needed, this could be removed easily by the new owner if preferred. This van does have central locking but the locks only work on the drivers door and rear door, the passenger side did work but has stopped working (probably through lack of use, some WD40 and patience would probably see it working again). The rear load space is separated from the cab with a steel gauze divide which does have a small access door, the rear load space also has a seat mounted to each wheel arch. These can be easily removed if not needed, the pink rectangle on the sides and paw prints are just stickers so can be peeled off. .
All in all this a decent little van, having covered just over 104k it is low mileage for a 20 year old commercial vehicle. If it was bigger we wouldn’t be selling it! Ideal for small tradesman, pet van or moving stuff in general. Clutch and brakes are fine, tyres are good. It has a few marks here and there but none affect the function in any way, happy to answer any questions you may have. Viewings are welcomed, we are based in Milton Keynes
Asking for £450.
Thank you for looking.
Will add photo's in a few minutes, just uploading the to Photobucket.
