I quite like them, aggressive but don't look out of place. Now the Halfords way of doing it is what I did at 17 to an innocent AX, Weetabix card in a rough shape duct taped to the bonnet, body filler applied over the top. Nothing at all holding it on bar it's grip to the edge of the bonnet. Proper bodge at its finest

Ahahahahah, that's brilliant Astranaut. I must admit, I decided to make these out of metal purely to nudge myself a few millmetres away from pure Halfords Bodgery. I thought to myself "At least if somebody mutters 'look at this towny halfwit and his stupid evil eyes mod' and then has a fiddle with one he might go 'oh no, wait, these are quality evil eyes, made of proper metal... I have a newfound respect for this craftsman'.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. HMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting Jim. I did consider the fact they would potentially be air pockets but decided I was overthinking it and don't ever go fast enough for that to be a concern. I'm curious to know how Josh fixed his eyelids on. On the one hand mine are likely to be more prone because I've brought them right down to the crease line and therefore they're bigger. On the other hand, because of that fact these are bolted in to place at four points via the headlight fixing points. So in theory they should be stronger... but then again getting rammed full of more air than than they can reasonably accommodate can only lead to stress. Maybe I need to duct the headlamp surrounds and use this flaw to my advantage... as a kind of organic induction kit for my carb.

Welllllp, a first proper look in daylight and I'm now satisfied that this isn't a good look. The entire thing would depend on smoothing over the gaps and match-painting. Doing that will leave the eye lids prone to air pressure, and also its sods law that a day after doing it a bulb will blow. Leaving them how they look right now just looks like a curse word home bodge, so I'm taking this one off, and storing the pair of them for a possible future date should I get a brainwave about doing it differently. FAILBODGE Edit: Additional. Could. Not. Resist. I cant help it... I do like the effect. If I resist sealing them seamlessly to the nose they should be sufficiently vented, although it won't be as neat as I was aiming for.The second one I just fitted was sprayed first to see if it makes much difference. I think it does. I'm going to paint the other one on the car whilst also blowing over the entire front where paint has chipped off round the edges. Once it's all painted, I hope it looks OK. Need to wait for a dry day now to get it all painted in. Edit 2: More additional Just went for a lively trundle to test my eyebrows. Got up to a legal 70mph, maybe 75, maybe 80 but only for a little bit. They stayed on. Also, I think I've solved my engine tick. It became worrying loud just now (or I fixated on it, obsessively, who knows) forcing me to pull over and have a really good mooch. Don't want to tempt fate but I *THINK* it was my exhaust. I tightened up the clamp bolts and it seemed to disappear. Won't stay that way. I think I may need new exhausts AND manifolds. I think it all looks a bit crabby and possibly too far gone to clean up and refit. Here's a couple of front-on shots. The painted eyebrow definitely looks better than the unpainted. Going to seal the joins for tidiness but then vent the seals discreetly with some orderly needle hole perforations. Felt compelled to pull in for a shot on the car park at the mecca of this sort of bodge-moddery....

+1 reminds me of the days of FD RX-7 ownership.... how Mazda never twigged that holding on a giant plastic sail of a headlight cover with a couple of self-tappers and expecting them to hold on through escape velocity was doomed to failure... You weren't a proper RX-7 owner until you'd seen your eye-wateringly expensive headlight cover fly off on the M1 and bounce under the wheels of a Scania But yeah, like the Scim headlight brows. Much more.... Ming-ey

Now this thread is just making me frown - not because i don't like them - but because my face always mimics the expressions of oncoming cars and their headlight "eyes".
Is it just me that suffers from that?

I'm seriously in the haven't got a clue camp here Hahahah, me too. Let's cook some beans! ==== I don't quite know how I managed it, but I appear to have cut Ming's beard assymetrically. The driver's side prong is longer than the passenger's. It's going to drive me absolutely nuts now I've realised. The one on the driver's side is how I want it, the shorter one on the passenger side is not... so I can't just cut down the longer one as then I'll hate both sides. I'm going to have to make some bolt on fascia panels now. The front of my car is rapidly turning into an enthusiastic child's Lego model. DAMN YOU RETRORIDES GOODWOOD. YOU'RE RUINING MY CAR.

I like them. I think. I wouldn't get too hung up on the through-flow of air. After all, we don't know how Josh attached those ones to his car. From memory the headlight surrounds are pretty substantial, and if you've stuck 'em to these well enough I can't imagine them going anywhere. As for the inevitable gap between frown lids and bodywork, why not use some rubber beading. I would link you to the sort I'm thinking of but, meh, work it out. I can however drop this here. Just because.

That does look like one sulky miffed scimitar.

Niiiice Rev. Was that one of your former cars?
With regards to filling.... I always reach for my trusty Sugru. It's black, it goes on and shapes like a dream, and dries as a rubber bead. What's more I can lay it in, smooth it, and then punctuate it with little vent holes before it cures.
I know it all looks a bit of a mess right now but once I do the finishing (family are away three days next week) I am confident it will look tidy, solid and consisteng... if not quite to everyone's (inc. My own, possibly) tastes.
Even the f*ck up on Ming's Beard might lead to a further improvement as I plan to discreetly add new symmetrical fascia pieces to each side, and this will allow me to extend out a bit further and also wrap backwards.
I really need to get all this silly dress-up nonsense done, get the windscreen rubber swapped, have a paint blow-over and then get back to maintenance and mechanicals. I've really enjoyed messing about with the interior and the appearance, but that's enough now. I have a cooling system to overhaul, a speedo cable to replace and a dripping sump plug to scream at.

What I can't understand with this thread is where are all the beards? My only experience of ScimWorld (like Spiceworld but they break down more often) had been through scimjim and Phil H and that has statistically led me to believe you all sport King George V beards (including the wimmin) as per the picture below below. Yes, that's me on my toes and wearing a hat to seem taller among these colossi!

I haven't met enough Scimitar owners to make a reliable comment. I've met four in total, and none of them have beards. So from my perspective your Scimitar / Beard Venn diagram is at best fanciful. At worst it's... It's... It's ... Eh, I don't know what the worst case scenario would be. Sorry, I started the sentence without any specific destination in mind.
Fake news. At worst, it's fake news.
That hat really works though. You look significantly taller than the Collossi. They look like pygmies in comparison. If you ever go for a job interview as a policeman, you should stand on tiptoe and wear that hat. It gives you an imposing stature.

Whilst they are some of our finest Scimitar ambassadors and also custodians of majestic facial shrubbery, it is not actually a requisite of Scimitar ownership.
The last I tried to grow out any sort of facial hair, it looked more akin to an assortment of bedraggled hamsters had lost their way and expired on the open plains. I know my place, therefore I do not own a GTE.

Are those collosi Jim & Phil then?
I never knew they had beards.
Are you sure they actually have beards? I suspect the beards are attached to the flat caps. I refer back to my Chins-Am innovation, now in Beta testing.

Hey RoberrrrrJulian I was just sat eating my supper and thinking about PMing you after I've cleared the table. Those speakers... Still here, getting on my wife's nerves now, and I'm sick to death of fiddling round endlessly with non-essentials on this car (and I still have a long way to go just to make what's there decent). So if your friend is back on more certain ground and you feel like despatching him for collection, I think you should. My sudden desire to refit them has now evaporated. I'm generally too paranoid to drown out the car's noises with music, and they are highly likely to get slung in the loft and forgotten.
Sorry to flim-flam but I'm reversing my reversal and won't re-reverse it. Once my wife starts looking at my junk with that stern expression, I know its time to take action.
Let me know if you want them. Again! Haha
