Right folks - fitted a new Lion Battery from my other Mercedes, as this one wasn't taking charge.
Fired up right away, with no warning lights (apart from low washer fluid, due to leak on the washer bottle).
Took it for a spin and got it valeted on the outside.
Drives well. No overheating. Engine purrs nicely and the gearbox changes smoothly. Still puts a smile on your face when you open her up, and you feel like a dictator driving it.
Has the knocking rear shock absorber as already mentioned, and rear suspension is sagging.
Took some decent photos of it, and will upload this evening.

Now on eBay.
Prefer to sell as is, with the current wheels.
These are the 8 Hole W140 Alloys, with decent and matching Pirelli P6000 235 / 60 / 16.

I'll be picking up my other one later next week, and this has to go as I need the space.

Any more info on the rear suspension sagging? Looks quite severe? Broken springs perhaps?
I sold my 1998 cl600 recently and that needed 2 new springs on the front when I got it.

£4300. Has to be one of the cheapest 600 SELs currently for sale.
Grab a good one before they all disappear.

Absolute bargain - I can't even find another one for sale, but there is a Phase 2 W140 S600 on ebay for £10k.

Not worth getting it fixed yourself and getting an MOT on it? I'm sure that is what is putting people off.
Lovely old bus though!

It probably would help sell the car, but I have no time at the moment.
I work up in Newcastle during the week, and also have an E34 Sport and XJ40 projects on the go (watch this space).
Someone has won it on eBay, but typically not got back in touch...

I'd love a phase two one I personally prefer the Phase 1 models, plus they have the more powerful 408 bhp engine in V12 guise!

Not worth getting it fixed yourself and getting an MOT on it? I'm sure that is what is putting people off. Lovely old bus though! That's the thing, isn't it. Without an MOT and fixed suspension it's a trailer job and *then* the repair cost. Hiring a bloke with a trailer isn't cheap and with collapsed rear suspension you couldn't even put it on a spectacle lift because the rear would scrape - it would have to be the full flatbed deal. (I think using a spec lift without an MOT might be iffy too 'cos it's still 'on the road'.) How much would it cost to fix & get a ticket on?

Right folks, last chance to grab this at £3200 as it is.
I have to pick up my other 600 SEL by the end of next week, and I really don't have room for two W140s.
If no interest by end of the week, then I may bite the bullet and get the suspension pipes seen to and get it MOT'd, as I'm working from home mid week.
Naturally, the car won't be £3200 if I get this done, and I will be expecting well over £4k (depending on the cost to get it sorted).
