An unrivalled VW Golf Mk3 Driver 3dr with one owner and 25,511 miles
EQUIPMENT
Side impact protection, rigid safety cell, central locking, laminated windscreen, green tint insulating glass, angle vision door mirrors, halogen headlamps with warning buzzer, rear wash/wipe, rear spoiler, seatbelt tensioners, power steering, adjustable steering column, electric sunroof, heated washer jets, rev counter, clock, variable lighting control, time delay courtesy lighting, height adjustable sports seats, folding rear seats, rear seatbelts, padded steering wheel, Sony XR4409 radio cassette. Dealer options: VW Mudflaps, Cobra alarm, VW floor mats.
EXTERIOR
This impressive VW Golf Driver is finished in Tornado Red, (Colour Code LY3D), and maintains a deep polished shine having been garaged all its life by the only owner. Signs of a pampered existence are evident with unmarked bumpers, rubber side mouldings and body trimmings. Incredibly the yellow factory wax applied when new to protect the car when delivered to the dealer network can be traced in places. The supplying dealer rear window sticker and number plate are still affixed to the car along with a recent VW service reminder sticker to the front screen. Correct Hella headlamps and factory tint rear lenses are pristine. A future classic guaranteed.
INTERIOR
A truly spectacular interior with the sports seats finished in Cockpit Cloth with the matching unmarked cloth covered door and side panels. The bolsters remain perfectly shaped and unworn commensurate with the incredibly low mileage. The carpets are still protected by the original VW rubber mats. None of the plastic trim has been damaged and all the controls work as they should including the original Sony radio cassette. Door shuts are perfectly clean and even the steering wheel and gear knob retain their textured finishes. The boot area is pristine with the foam wheel arch trim to assist noise dampening undamaged. Perfectionists will adore the boot factory code sticker and production check sticker still attached. A remarkable factory fresh cockpit defying its 22 years of age.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The front in-line transversely mounted 1781cc engine with a light alloy cross flow cylinder head produces 90bhp enabling a top speed of 112mph and 0-60mph in 12.1 seconds. Fastidious regular servicing and a spotless engine bay with all manufacture markings and stickers are highly sought after attributes. The engine block and some components still has the preservation wax applied when new. The 5-speed manual gearbox is reassuringly solid and precise.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Fitted with the standard and exclusive to this model 6J X 14 Orlando alloy wheels in unmarked condition and shod with matching Michelin Energy 185/60 R14 tyres with masses of tread. The diagonally split servo assisted brakes with load a sensitive brake pressure regulator bring the car safely and quickly to a halt.
HISTORY FILE
This Volkswgen Golf Driver was first registered on the 20th December 1994 by main dealers Whites of Haslemere. The only owner from new, Mrs Hatto, has pampered, garaged and maintained this example with such exacting standards the car is a unique and rare find. No less than 20 stamped entries are catalogued with the last being at VW main Dealers, Martins of Farnham, at 25,094 miles. Accompanying invoices correlate to the service book entries and along with previous MOT certificates warrant the 25,511 miles covered. All handbooks, spare keys, sales brochures and manuals are included with the sale.
Destined as a future classic with such rare credentials and now reaching 22 years of age we are acutely aware this example would make a formidable daily car.
