It will be reclassed as a campervan/ motorhome once Ive fitted the last bits to the interior, and sent the V5 to the DVLA. So would this make a difference? Can you get commercial tyres in 18" then? As there's loads of Transits rolling around on 18" rims.!

There's not a legality problem it's a weight issue if you overload the tyres they get seriously hot and go pop. The 18" St wheels everyone uses have a commercial size available and they wider tyres tend to have higher load ratings anyway.

Great looking van and makes a change to see one modded without white stripes on the bonnet I was looking on Ebay at these the other day, seem to be loads with duff fuel pumps/needing welding making them a very cheap option if you don't mind repairing one.

Really liking this. I would like to do something similar (but more minibussy, less campery) as would be ideal for moving kids/dogs/bikes/building stuff around. Try as I might I just can't sell the idea to the keeper of the purse though.

Correct Mr strike. Parts are so much cheaper for them than say a T4/T5. ! And as long as you own a welder and can use it, you'll be fine..but then that's the case with all ford's over the years! Remember how bad mk3 and 4 escorts use to rot!!! And bedsides, like I've said before..T4 &5s have been done to death! Not main lowered Transits about😉

The only times I seem to drive past the bike shop lately are when it's closed. I'm out and about in the area next week so i'll drop by.
