Didn't like the Maestro when it was first out always preferred the Montego. They have really grown on me since then though some thing about the boxy styling I think. My dad had a hearing aid beige 1.6 maestro when i first passed my test. Not really the colour or model of car a 17 year old wants to be seen in so i tried to write it off.  |

My dad had a Montego 1.6L as a company car, with the dual-tone paint (metallic blue top, grey bottom). A lad at college was given a black Montego Turbo as his first car by his father, the jammy get.

Yes I know its been posted before but it’s definitely worth seeing again 😎 I havnt seen that before. On paper its a disaster, but I think those arches suit the allegro better than an escort, and I want to do it to an estate. And slam it. Hmmmm........ |

When I was a pup, and allegros were just announced, I remember waiting outside Lewisham Odeon for a bus to school, on the other side of the road was an Orange Bubble arched 2 door allegro on woolfrace slotmag wheels, bearing in mind this was only a month since the Allegro was announced, The car, I found ut later was something to do with one of the companies that worked at the back of Brands Hatch paddock, HT engineering?, it did make me wonder if it was one of the cars that BL would send out to builders Just to see what they could do?

Some club actually did that to an RT.
Looking at the route board I'd say it was the Smoke City Wheelers.

Smoke city wheelers did indeed chop a routetmaster the top deck was chopped, and the Windows on the bottom deck were shortened to give the effect of both decks being chopped, the advantage? you could still stand up downstairs around the bar, and sleep about 20 upstairs, mobile clubhouse
