Just over a week ago my grandad passed away. When my parents were looking through old photos for the service they found this - It's a 360 GLE in the same colour as my 340. Now I looked on the DVLA & it said last taxed in 2003 (B60 XCR). I don't hold much hope but would anybody have any leads? I'd love to be able to buy it! Cheers

Area may help to narrow things down a bit on the off chance it stayed local

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

Due to it not being taxed since 2004, it having no history on the DVLA MOT database, and it not appearing on any of the vehicle check databases I tried, its highly likely it was squashed into bean cans many years ago.

If it was scrapped properly then the reg would show as no details held on dvla site.
As the reg is still showing its either laid up somewhere or it wasn't scrapped properly.

Sorry for your loss, only thing I could think of would be to try a Volvo owners forum. Good luck

I must be wrong then but every car I've scrapped doesn't even show on dvla reg check.

In which case try Y461 LJX (it's a Ford Mondeo). I had a letter back in 2009 to confirm it had been scrapped. It still comes up, but that can be handy for me at times (parts searching for example).

I must be wrong then but every car I've scrapped doesn't even show on dvla reg check. My first car is still on the database and I scrapped that in 1993. If you want to check it, it's CBK 780W, a Morris Ital.

If you do find it, be sure to post it here - it's always heartwarming to see what remains of a genuine loving owner: a cared for piece of working metal to represent a man's touch and legacy to the world. Best of luck!

Thanks for the replies guys. I've posted the same on volvo owners but no joy there. I didn't expect anything, but you don't know if you don't ask. Tried all my dads old Volvo 360's & his many, many old Fords. Only 2 of the 50+ I tried came up. One we knew about - mk1 White piranha escort & a 1600gt mk1 cortina. Can't afford either of those!
