My old 480 Turbo (never got round to painting it so it was 100% shat-look) I fitted a filter cone which seemed like a good idea on a turbo'd engine, but it ended up getting loads of heat soak. So I fitted this........ .......the vent.....    ......and the filter cone......  .....it sounded awesome loads of chatter everytime you backed off the throttle and a mental sucking noise when on boost! |

i usually find bonnet scoops to be offensive unless they are there for a real reason, eg stonking great motor under the bonnet. but i like all of those.

Keep em steel and a matching shape for the car they're on and i think they can improve the looks, best if they are functional as well. Made this one for my old V6 cortina to get cold air into thecarb  My mate built this one and its now going on another mates mk1, designed to help pull air through the rad.   |

here's some which come under mods rather than scoops and bulges... never seen black paint look so good on a punto  cheap mod for the yoof!!...lol  this one might actually come under bulges as well as mods thinkin' about it..lol i had to censor it to save your blushes but it does come under the Volkswagen Audi Group...honest...   and who cares about this bonnet??..its what's underneath that counts... ;D...i'm in lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve!!  |

NACA ducts are sposed to be the only scoop that don't produce turbulence, but the maths has to be spot on or they are as bad as all the others, don't spose it makes much odds on old cars though really, sometimes its quite difficult to get air going the right way with home designed scoops. lol

extra stuff covering your headlights is a no no IMO, i am always trying to make my lights better while everyone else seems to want to make theirs worse, am i the only one who don't want to slow down just cos its dark?

I like the cut out and tight mesh on the Volkswagen and Audi Group bonnet...took a while to notice it i admit but on a plain colour bonnet it would be discreet and cool and hopefully keep out some water while drivin' through torrential rain in this wet isle of ours!!!

and that passat does look cool in matt black.....
i like the cortina bonnet that is being done on here which to be honest inspired this post in the first place....

I need to enter this world with the ghia.
I need to fit my intercooler, which is goint to poke through the bonnet so i figured ill buy/make a scoop to both cover the cooler and force air through it.
Thing is, i want a nice rounded ally one which i'll rivet on so i guess ill either have to brush up on my fabricating skills or pay through the nose to get one made.

IMO the best bulge/tear elips bonnet. (I am Biased thoug)  However drop the chrome strip as it looks pants. |
