EXTERIOR
This rare Mini Thirty is number 1580 of 2000 produced in lustrous Pearlescent Cherry Red (code COG), one of only two colours available for this model along with Black. The paintwork boasts a beautiful deep shine created due to the extra coat of clear lacquer applied when new. Even upon very close inspection the paintwork upholds its incredible finish, with only minimal touched in scratches carried out by the careful owners to protect. All the chrome is well preserved including the eleven slat grille, but the front bumper has some minor stone chips. The colour coded wheel arch spats, chrome window inserts and rubbers are in perfect order. All distinguishing decals exclusive to the Mini Thirty remain intact and damage free and the Mini Thirty Crest bonnet badge is flawless. A truly extraordinary example of this iconic classic special edition Mini, every inch a showroom display piece.
INTERIOR
The interior of this outstanding Mini Thirty is in fabulous original condition. The seats are finished in the elegant blend of black leather and ‘Lighting’ cloth (code PMA) with the important ‘1959 to 1989’ tag neatly sewn into the seat. Two tiny nicks to the driver’s seat base and one to the unique leather gear knob are minor imperfections. The exclusive Claret deep cut pile carpets are wear free and full of colour. The red leather sports steering wheel with ‘Thirty’ crest is in fantastic order with all stitching intact. All instruments, switches gauges operate correctly and the interior plastic trim, door cards and headlining are perfect. A modern CD player has been profe3ssionally installed. Very special and not to been missed.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Needing little introduction, the engine is the 4-cylinder transverse OHV 998cc A+ unit which pulls strongly and quietly. Parts availability is excellent helping to keep running costs low. The clean engine bay featuring the unique yellow paintwork block is exactly as Rover intended, and factory plates and stickers remain intact. The four speed all synchromesh gearbox is impeccably smooth and light with precise gear changes accomplished effortlessly. Classic Minis are renowned for their pure simplistic fun characteristics and this example is no exception!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory correct, these desirable eight spoke alloy wheels with wheel nut cut away sections remain in excellent order. The 145/70 12 tyres have plenty of tread remaining. The servo assisted dual line hydraulic brakes pull the car up quickly and aid the responsive handling and manoeuvrability.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 6th February 1990 by Austin Rover Main Dealers, Wadham Stringer of Guildford, this incredible example boasts an amazing full history file from new. A Vehicle Consignment Note from Rover to the supplying dealer confirms the order and them as the first owner. A further Used Vehicle Sales Invoice from the original supplying dealer to the first private keeper outlines a purchase price of £5,395 when the car was just one year old and having covered 4,289 miles.
This Mini Thirty, number 1580 even comes with the exceptionally rare “1959-1989 Mini Thirty Years On” book by Rob Golding that was presented with the car when new, and almost certainly misplaced over the years in most cases. The history file also consists of the original service booklet and a huge collection of Rover Main Dealer and specialist invoices, as well as many previous MOT certificates. KGF Classic Cars are proud to present this low mileage and cherished special edition Mini to the market ready for the next fun-seeking keeper.
