Up for sale is my Diamond white Ford Capri.
Firstly it is a project so please don't turn up and expect to drive it away - there is no MOT anyway. It would be advisable for it to be collected on a trailer or I can deliver it for a fee with my truck. Please ask for a quote.
Now onto the car, ill list the bad points first:
It does need welding in the common capri spots. These are:
Rear valance
Rear spring hangers
Small area in the headlight bowl
Rear arches
Previous repairs on the strut tops need addressing or tidying up
a few repairs under the inner wings at the front
Front wings.
There is some small surface rust around the sunroof and the a pillars but nothing too serious.
Front scuttle.
Bonnet.
There may be more, but that's what iv seen so far.
The engine runs ok but smokes when running - a full headgasket kit is included with the sale. The clutch is nearly done and will need changing.
One of the front brakes is stuck but it has been sat for some time.
Drivers seat is worn.
Aside from the points above it isn't a bad car to start with. The doors are in pretty good shape along with the tailgate. The front valance seems good and with a bit of patience I'm sure the front wings would go again. Despite the surface rust on the sunroof and a pillars they seems good for a capri and the sills are still solid too.
The car will start, move and drive under its own steam and the 5 speed gearbox seems good too.
The wheels are included in the sale and are citroen steels in 15". The rears are wider than the fronts and have 205 50 15 tyres on the rear and 195 50 15 tyres on the front. The tyres are all like new but one of the front ones seems to go down over time.
I don't really want to get rid of it and it will stay if the price isn't right. It will make a good car for someone I'm sure.
Heres a few pictures, I shall get some more if there is any interest:
Any questions or viewings please fire away. The car is in Chorley, Lancashire and I can be contacted on 07933640046.
