I've got a rover 3.9 V8 engine for sale, out of a LR Discovery. I don't know a great deal about it - I bought it a few weeks ago as a spare lump for mine (and who doesn't want a spare V8 kicking around in the garage?), but then my plans changed and I may have bought something ridiculously large and American, so the Disco will be going soon and I don't need the spare engine any more. 3.9 litres just doesn't cut it!
What I'm selling is a complete Rover 3.9 V8 engine, complete with starter, alternator, power steering pump (I think), intake manifold, injectors and plenum. It also comes with the Lucas 5am hotwire air flow meter and a 14cux ECU. Basically, add a loom, exhausts, fuel supply and fire it up!
I don't have a picture at the minute as I've only just decided to sell it and I'm sat in my lounge in my dressing gown and can't be bothered going out to the garage to take a snap! Will get one in the morning and whop it on the advert.
I've obviously not had it running but was assured it ran fine from the guy I bought it from - he'd changed to a 200TDi engine in his. Madness in my eyes, but each to their own! If anyone wants to come and do a compression test or anything, be my guest. I'll whip the rocker covers off and have a look in there if I get chance too, I looked through the oil filler hole when I bought it and all appeared clean - no gunky curse word or anything.
£200 for the lot if anyone wants it - will sell the engine/ecu/afm separately if anyone wants them individually.
