enjoyed ep3, all but the golf gti sailing past supercars stunts. lamborghini which has basically double the golfs power to weight, cmon, great entertainment, but don't treat us like idiots ! With two drivers that have the same talent the golf would be left behind but the 'ring is Sabine's home, its her work and her life she has been driving there before she was legally allowed to drive so it doesn't surprise me she would outdirve everyone else, she could drive the 'ring blindfolded. she can get a Transit round there quicker than most people can with a sports car.

I thought all the car sections in this last episode were well written, informative and fun. They're writing from what they have - there's an American leading it so use his pronunciations and language (Miata, etc) to best effect. Everyone uses their little differences to make them unique and to stand out and this is no different, and using that for comedic effect is smart. Same reason Harris is portrayed as a bit of a geek and a racing driver etc. The chase with the Policjia was as good a film section as many high end action films. And the "suspects are Joey from Friends and a guy with no hair" police intercom was top notch... makes me laugh just writing it.

My constructive tip would be to swap Rory with the kid who reviews chicken shops. Crep check before every review ftw. Bossman gave me three legs!

Getting someone like Furze involved is inspired and shows the production team are moving with the times. The show of-old got so elitist with so many supercars - it's just unattainable stuff for 99% of viewers; A bit of fantasising is great but if it's just about the expensive kit none of your viewers will ever drive you lose your grip on reality. I think that's where there's so much more room to fit in segments about more interesting motoring scenes and cultures - as long as they make it entertaining (as Leno, MCM, Roadkill etc do) I'm sure they'll start to reshape the show with a more real-world end. I think that's where the high-powered pressure washer/muck spreader ideas come from too - mucking about with things just for fun that aren't £200k hypercars. It's no accident the three sportscars in the studio are basically what was on every 10 year old's bedroom wall in the mid 80s (Countach, Testarossa, 911) I think they've realised a lot of the older audience are happy with Clarkson over on Amazon so they're aiming to pull in a younger gen-x audience used to YouTube and a more hands-on feel to motoring telly. Predictions - I think they will start to embrace more of the sorts of things we like over here as the show finds its new feet: Café Racer cars Kei-cars and unusual JDM imports Bosozoku scene and other 'out there' car cultures) - swedish saab/volvo turbo drag-racing etc, mudding in Subarus, so many more And more nostalgia bits cars that were cool in the 80s - Group B Rally Cars, Cars you'd see in the Professionals, Sweeney, A-Team, Capris (like Jamie Oliver and his mate) Camper Vans. I'm rambling now.

I had to fast forward thru a lot of sections on ep3 it was that dire. I had the actual thought of not bothering watching it anymore.

Well I hate to say this but, I am enjoying the new season more than the last few seasons of old top gear. Never thought I would say that.

Completly and utterly the nutz
This, on its own, is probably more in the mood of what top gear should be. Its doing well, but The Furze needs a regular bit on the show because it needs some genuine sillyness.

Totally agree - just got back from 2 weeks out of the country and watched 3 episodes (2, 3 & 4?) Really enjoyed it but found myself wondering why there were still three presenters (just because there were three in the previous seasons?) - what does Rory add to the show? "Captain Slow" had a raison d'etre that was developed throughout the series - but Rory's "character" doesn't seem to be part of the storyline?

I'm seeing Rory as the excited teenager in us all who has supermarket posters on his bedroom wall and is just loving the experience as the rest of us would be in his position.
I quite enjoyed his run on the 'Ring with Sabine, the joy of the experience came across pretty well.
