£500's pretty cheap, you'd get that back on the lump if it's running. The cheapest I've ever seen for a Shadow was £700 & that was pretty rotten.

Don't bother with putting a diesel into it, keep the rolls lump and go lpg if running costs are an issue.
Cobra style side pipes or zoomies would add an extra touch of class.
There's been loads of rolls bangered so nothing new there.

A diesel is strictly out of the question
Anyways today i loosely refitted the fuel pump and pottered down to the motorfactors for some new fuel lines, which they had sold the last bit to the guy in front of me, typical!
So while ordering bits for my 900 i was tellin them about my recent purchase and everyone i heari g range was in disbelief, a 25 year ol buying a rolls royce? What madness is this!?
We also settled on the first mod that should be done - a vinyl fabric roof, something similar to whats on most convertibles!
While inspecting the car today i found the wheels are seized solid, so a gallon drum of wd40 is to be bought and old yella is being taken out of retirement haha
Apologies for the lack of pictures, my camera is busted and my phone doesnt like taking half recognizable photos, but the photos shall come soon!

Might I suggest that, with the stratospheric 7.1 compression ratio, strapping a turbo to this is the only sensible option.... 76mm t4 will get you 500hp at around 8lb of Booooooosssssttttt., You know it makes sense..... P.  |

So apologies for the lack of posting, work has taken up most of my time and along with a very sick 9-5 and a 900 in need of a revamp, the rolls was put on the backburner The car came with no ignition or key so i needed to get myself one, which i picked up for the princely sum of 30 euro  Not the best, but it'l do! The back is the bit that will be the most fun, it seems to have 11 or 12 points which i need to get nuts and bolts for, however that will happen in time   Next I've to free the wheels and get a key once all that's done, new battery and hope it fires up! |

When I was about 17 I was given the task of trying to braze up rust holes in those chrome bumper ends so they could be re chromed. That was 22 years ago and they were worth stupid money even second hand back then. I failed. The financial responsibility of a car like this would scare me too much even though I'm pretty good at make do and mend. Watching with interest  |

Theres another rolls at the yard and the chrome bumpers are in an absolute state, so i got lucky! I'm cautiously optimistic about the whole thing although behind it all I'm bricking it |

How have I missed this? Got to add  These earlier ones lend themselves more to suicide rear doors due to having a straighter rear door edge-c pillar area....just saying. |

If it turns out to be too far gone mechanically, you could always follow Tom221, and drop the body onto a V8 disco chassis.... just saying

Love this car. I'd like something similar myself one day.
I would say if you do find breakages it's important not to despair as the whole car is built from normal things. It's not like a car from the 2000s where a gearbox breaks and the only solution is a drop-in replacement from a breaker. Nope, with the Rolls you'd take the gearbox out, find the broken part and replace it with something off the shelf like a bearing or get something made or make something yourself.
You're used to this from working on the Saab 900. There aren't many parts which can't be repaired on the 900 and the Rolls is going to be designed and built in a similar sort of fashion.
I'd be looking to get it running on Megasquirt (or similar) asap. The difference in performance from 1970s carburettors and modern fuel injection will be phenomenal.
