	MERCEDES-BENZ W124 260E Glasgow SOLD Year 1990 Mileage 145k Engine 2.6 Auto 4 speed MOT'd - until April 2017 Color Smoke Sliver With much regret I am putting this lovely mercedes up for sale as I have lost the storage space, previously owned by a Rolls Royce engineer and kept in very good order, was in storage for 10 years and recommissioned a few years ago. Comes with loads of history and receipts everything is logged, original handbooks and service booklets, also 4 keys including the wallet key. A timeless classic a quality Mercedes w124 260e, 6 cylinder automatic finished in stunning metallic sliver with contrasting interior cream checked fabric trim. This car will not disappoint even the most disconcerting purchaser or Mercedes enthusiast. This car is beautifully presented, is in stunning condition. definitely one of the best remaining W124 models. It looks the part, so elegant yet imposing and it is fabulously clean throughout and totally original. Frugal and reliable enough to be used daily but in my opinion it's too special for that, so is ideally suited to being a weekend classic and certainly is one that can be taken to MB Club events with pride. These really are last of the quality built E class, realistically priced in a rising market for these executive saloons, this Mercedes has wanted for nothing and its condition and mechanical functionality support its cherished life. Super smooth engine and ride Excellent oil pressure & no overheating problems Recent full exhaust system. Recent new windscreen. Sports / Economy auto gearbox. Mercedes security system, with immobiliser. Central Locking Sunroof Original Blaupunkt radio/ tape and electric aerial Good original interior very comfy Original wheel trims with chrome centres Everything on the car works apart from one thing which is the rear headrests which for someone reason don't want to stay up, this is a well looked after example not your usual rubbish, needs no work just get in and enjoy. The car does have the odd bits of surface rust very minor imo overall its in nice condition mainly due to the fact its been garaged for nearly a decade of its life. 	I'm a 123 man, but love this. Alas, I'd say a base spec 124 in that colour will be a hard sell. You need to invest in some period alloys to lift the drab sea of beige currently on offer. Those period trims ruin your car; they work on bold coloured cars, but kill yours.

	base spec maybe but less to go wrong, id say the 230e is the lesser spec.. imo the 260 is a perfect balance engine wise, as for the retro hearing aid beige its all down to taste some may like it i would have changed the trims if i was keeping her, but to be honest i like the trims which gives the car that original untouched look, obviously price isn't set in stone so can knock something off it if indeed the owner wanted to spend a little on period alloys can't do much about the beige i like the w123 but prefer the W116 just something about it i like

	Personal opinion and all but I reckon it looks great on the trims, cruising round in this in the sun with the sunroof open would be mega.

	Thanks mate, been making the most of the good weather and yes sunroof always open wafting about while i still have her will be sad to see her go, i haven't yet seen a clean w124 like this one

	I just don't think these have hit the 'classic' sweetspot yet, most people just see them as an old car. They do have there aficionados but values don't reflect that. I looked at a mint 1 owner from new 300E last year at a grand, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it that a weekends detailing wouldn't of made perfect. I bought a nice E32 735 instead as there more my thing. I don't think your too far off price wise, just there's not a big market for them.

	I think you'll get your money at this price, but it'll take some time. Maybe try an add in some of the "proper" classic mags or the specialist classic Benz mags? Compared with some of the W124s advertised there, this is a total bargain. I'd have this if I didn't already have a 130k mile 300e auto in smoke silver...
