Awesome!
Apparently my wife's grandfather left a couple of International trucks sitting on a farm somewhere, I'd love to bring one back and do something similar one day...

Back by popular demand. All I can hear is Warren Zevon singing that phrase, classic rock inspired truck? +1 on the dangers of turning a hobby into a business, it can be a lot different. Not that I can talk

All that whining about "My Truck or the wife's truck" is over. I stumbled upon an old advert on Craig's list with no pictures. It read "2004 Durango 5.7 Hemi non running for parts or complete".
One hour away. The wife and I drove out, saw it, looked it over, made the deal & shook some hands and called a tow truck then had some lovely local family restaurant dinner. Shortly after arriving home, the tow truck arrived and dropped our donor chassis into the driveway next to 'Old Blue.
The engine is suspect, but I'm not afraid. It's ON. (oh and it has brand new tires on it. The wife claimed those instantly)
This project is moving forward tomorrow. The deconstruction begins!

Since we are delving into the business end of things, what has been on my mind is that whatever you ended up getting for the first truck was not enough. You have a talent and a market, but, imho marketed it wrong and accepted an offer too quickly. I realize you love doing this and it is a thrill, not just to see it go, but to have the recognition of a peer, but he got a steal and he knows it. Hoping this is received in the spirit it is given, but I figure it was worth 50% more than you sold it for at least.

This would have been such a cooler shot if INTL1 was towing INTL2. I have also grenaded this thread.

With all this talk of Intl1 and Intl2 I think we should rename this thread 'ThunderBirds" and paint them in corresponding colours.. So the first one should have been Blue, this one Green, the next Red, the one after Yellow and the 5th Silver and Blue etc. Or not. P.

This one will be marketed differently at the end and it's not selling for that same number. I'm not mad by the amount at all, but if something gets several fair offers and sells in only a week, the price was too low. This will be a better truck, with a bigger price tag. Not too crazy though

All very well and good, but then he'd need to plant palm trees down his drive what fell over all the time and there's two issues here; 1) I'm not sure that the Ohio climate is up to it and 2) even if it was, watering the damn things eats into irreplaceable beer time wouldn't you think?

Good to see you moving ahead.
Could you put a Hemi SRT motor (6.2L should suffice) in the wife's car, then nick her engine for the Mater-mony?

I missed it in the other thread. Do these make 400hp as standard? Certainly understated looking

The SRT motors cost way too much for my build budgets but I love those. In these SUV's, in this year range, they make 380 bhp and around 375 torque. Add a cat back system and a 3" intake tube, you're up right about at the 400 mark + - a few ponies. Bench racing, I say it makes 425 lol

Catch tray under the hole with an electric pump to put the oil back into the sump.
Sorted.

Shame about the Grenaded block. Thread well and truly Grenaded. I feel like I've just this second finished the first truck thread and i'm into page three of the second. Oh wait, that's exactly what happened. Outstanding work and staggeringly quick. Bravo.

Good work!
Just a thought, could you not use the floor plan from the Durango to save making a new floor?
