I do like this thread, picked up a Raleigh Michigan from the tip for 3 quid the other day, weighs about 4 tonnes but being a massive frame it's very nice to ride. Similar to your Cajun only mine doesn't have Reynolds tubing. Got that weird bio crank thing though.

That sounds like a good find, especially for just £3! I've got a few biocranks now, I doubt that they really do anything, but if I get a bike with one I generally swap it out for a regular one. I think it's just a cool retro addition to any eighties bike.

Having a bit of a clear out of my parts stash yesterday when my creative juices kicked in, and the next thing... Evidence that the devil does indeed make work for idle hands! Don't know what Mrs Pistonpopper will think when she sees it. But I think it will look a lot better once its got a bit more weathered.

loved this tale PP, I love the 'mysteries and memories of history' and it's items that hold the link to that history. Was they're not a house there with the play house?

Glad you enjoyed it s1105117 , I quite enjoyed writing it to be honest. There is a house nearby, its underneath that ivy in the back ground. I hope you rescued that Chipper PP Sadly not, when I uploaded the pictures to my farcebook page Mrs Pistonpopper was at work. Within half an hour I had a message that just said, "That better not be at home when I get home!" Hmm, and no kiss, she always puts a kiss! I knew this would be bad, and infact I knew that would be the reaction if I'd had brought it home, and so, as the owner didn't really want it removed even for me to photograph, I didn't try to take it. I just slid it back into the wendy house where I'd found it. I wish I could also show you the photos of all the cars on his property, but he let me photographs them only on the condition that I didn't share them with the world on the internet. I gave him my word that I wouldn't, and I won't, which is a real shame as there was some pretty cool stuff there. However, there was one car there that he said I could share with you guys if I wanted, because I brought it home with me, and so at some point it will show up on my blog it's probably not to everyones taste, it's not even that old, but it's a car that I've fancied having since they came out in about 2001.

I see your starting your Christmas training on the lightweight geodetic mince pies...
It comes to something when a small box of electronics is more important to a person than the fact they have just fallen into a swollen flooded river, oh well darwinisum will hopefully win one day, but probably not before the human race has evolved so the chin rests on the chest with a hump back pose in the important evolutionary step of phone staring...
Great write up as ever PP

Yes, they are the superleggera of mince pies, I was going to start off with some iced ones, but I thought they were a bit too bakewell tart for this early in the season. All they were missing was the cherry on top! I've got to agree with you jpr1977 I think that we have become far too absorbed by our phones, sadly, it's not even just restricted to the yoof of today. I've seen plenty of middle aged people like myself, who are litterally glued to their phones! Just last night I was out to dinner with my wife, kids, and friends, and noticed that in the pub we were eating in almost everyone was sitting there, eating their food, looking at their phones, not talking to one another, just scrolling through goodness knows what vacantly! honestly, whats the point of going out if thats all you're going to do? I am quite glad to have the cheapest phone in the world, no camera, no internet, no real value. I can send texts, and make phone calls with it, but thats just about it... It might have a torch too thinking about it, but thats just about it! Sadly, the last call I got on it was back at the begining of August... Hmm, I think I might be Billy no mates! Still, it's there if I need it! Anyhoo, thanks for the feedback, glad you're still enjoying it

Iced mince pies, they are just wrong on so many levels... I have to agree on the phone front it annoys the be-jesus out of me... Just talk to each other or stay at home in front of strictly come x factor brainwash and do the rest of us a favour... ( I have to add at this point that i make a living building mobile phone networks, so i'm probably partially to blame...) Being one of those funny work from home types I tend not to deal with the outside word until about 10am unless its strictly necessary, but had to get a commuter train into Waterloo for the first time in about 10 yrs recently, Christ its like dawn of the dead, multiple carriages full of hunch back zombies just staring at screens. Nice Schwin though... (And enjoy the Aventime, always fancied a v6 version, have you had a chance to use the open air button yet given the September rains?..)
