** Quick sale needed as new car has arrived - £1350 takes it... **
1987 BMW 735i SE Automatic - M30 'Big Block' Six Cylinder
One of the earlier examples of the E32 7 Series
Cirrus Blue with Full Grey Electric Leather
MOT until September 2016
M30 'Big Block’ 3.4 Litre, Straight Six, 12 Valve, 218 bhp, 140+ mph
Engine is strong and the car always starts first time. Has a lumpy idle for the first few minutes, but this clears up as the car warms. Pulls well throughout the rev range with the legendary M30 growl. It hold it's own against modern traffic and lifts it's skirt when it needs - surprisingly brisk even by today's standards. Happily cruises at motorway speeds, eating up the miles. 151k Miles, which is nothing for an M30.
Gearbox is good, and the gear changes are effortless. I'd dare say it feels like a better unit than Mercedes of the same era.
Brakes and suspension seem good, with no knocks or bangs. Smooth and quiet ride, just how an E32 should be. There is a wheel judder at around 65-75mph and under harder braking, so may need the wheels balanced.
Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light and Oil Light constantly on (oil level is fine, oil colour is clean and there doesn't seem to be any oil leaking). Seems to be a faulty sensor / sender unit, common issue on the M30. Temperature gauge will tend to creep up if left idling for extended periods, but sits in the middle when driving along (weak viscous fan coupling and a common issue on this engine). ABS light is on. Had been stood around a while before I purchased it, so the starter can sometimes stick (a few taps and it will fire up). Just needs regular use. Tyres are beginning to perish (two new ones in the boot).
High specification includes: Switchable ZF Sports Automatic Gearbox, Full Grey Leather, Electric Front Seats, Extended Leather to Dash Console, Dual Zone Climate Control, Air Con, Leather-Stitched Steering, 15” BBS Cross Spoke Alloys, Adjustable Steering Column, Electric Windows x 4, Walnut Burr Trim, Illuminated Vanity Mirrors, Ambience Lighting, Trip Computer, Front Fog Lamps, BMW Spare Wheel, BMW Tool Kit
No major rust or rot and a solid example throughout. All sills and arches seem clean and rot free. There are the usual marks and blemishes, consistent with age and mileage. Light scratches and swirl marks all over, which seem to be from drive through car washes. Deep key scratch to the NSR door. Bonnet has some bubbles appearing underneath the lacquer. A few loose bits of trim here and there. The wheels are in good condition, and just need new BMW centre emblem stickers to spruce them up.
Interior is in good condition, with no major rips or tears. The driver’s seat has the usual wear and a rip on the base, but nothing to shout home about. The leather in this is high end hide, which has a better quality feel to it compared to the standard leather trim. It feels firmer, and is more robust in terms of wear and tear (well, it has taken the last 29 years pretty well!).
Everything works as it should – a testament to the 1980s BMW build quality (unlike the tosh they produce nowadays, where the plastics begin to wear out after 6 months!). Interior Fan has a mind of it's own, and sometimes remains on even if dial is turned off? Most likely a sticky resistor (heaters all work fine and blow out hot and cold air).
Comes with: 3 Keys, Current MOT and a few previous MOT Certificates, Various Bill & Receipts, BMW Folder & User Manuals, BMW Service Booklet
I bought this as a light summer project, however, I've just been offered a nice 745i Sport at a bargain price, so this has to go (even though it would have been a nice stable mate to the 635csi and E34 M5). Useable daily classic that just needs a little TLC. Good E32s are now going up in value, and the better examples are well over £5k. Grab a solid one at a decent price while you can!

Right folks, reduced to the give away price of £1350.
You'll struggle to find another solid one with a strong engine for this price.
Surprised at the little interest on here.... Usually my first port of call to advertise any retro classic, but at this rate, eBay will probably generate more interest (and of course, the time wasters!).
Available to view all weekend. Call me on 07984 395400.

It looks a lovely motor, and the price is far from steep, but the engine oil level warning/pressure warning and ABS lights would put me off. Also, if two tyres are provided, why not just get them fitted for the sake of £15?
Not trying to be critical. If I wasn't in Gibraltar, I'd probably have been to view it myself!
At least I'd be able to see your CSI, M5, 8 series and SEL...!

I'm not wrong, you just don't agree with me. There's a difference!

Thanks for the comment. To be honest, I just have no time to do anything with it at the moment, as I work away in Newcastle and always busy on the weekends.
I think the price is fair and reflects the bits that need sorting. I doubt it will need much to get through an MOT. And to be honest, £1500 is around the minimum for almost any E32, even ones with higher mileage. I've seen a few non -runners sell for £1200+, so I am surprised this is still around.
