Hi Guys
Just wondering if anyone works at a Suzuki car dealership as i need to locate a spare part,
The lower front radiator mount/jacking point has rusted through on my 2004 Suzuki Alto daily driver (sorry its not retro)
Its a steel bracket that bolts on to the front panel and holds the radiator in place,My local Suzuki dealer says its not available separately but i`m sure that can`t be true?
Can anyone help?
I`ve checked allover the web but no luck
Cheers Adrian

I'm not sure if its a Suzuki thing, but my local dealership is like this, will lie through there teeth to get you to spend big bucks! I needed a small power steering pipe for my mums Jimny, they told me its not available on its own so we needed to pay nearly £300 for all of them. It was literally like a 4" Pipe. After lots of googling I found the part number on an American site, when I argued with them on the phone after like the 4th call they suddenly changed there mind and said it was available for £19.......
All I can suggest is try and find a parts diagram and find a part number?

What's the VIN? I work for suzuki head office in Australia... Wow i love this forum!!! My Vin number is MA3FFB21500266812 i think the part might be called a front jacking point (but it also supports the centre of the radiator) Its bolted to the bottom of the front panel and has a circular mount on the radiator, A part number would be amazing thanks, Cheers Adrian P.s Any chance if you could find out if a parts manual/cd is available to buy?

I`ve always gone to my other dealerships with a part number for anything i need, But there is very little information available for my Alto (the JDM model has a completely different engine) The parts guy tried telling me i need a complete weld on front panel which i know is nonsense because i`ve heard of people replacing the bracket for about a tenner!! Cheers Adrian

Unfortunately, I think you're Suzuki dealer is telling the truth. The parts catalogue shows no separate brackets for the bottom radiator mounts. The top mount brackets can be bought, but nothing available for the bottom.
We've stopped supplying a lot of the parts for these altos, as the parts have been discontinued from factory.

Hi Thanks for having a look for me, At least i know he was`nt just making it up, I guess its off to the scrappy to find one less rusty than mine to use as a template to make a stainless one, Cheers Adrian

I'm guessing the answer is no but the bottom bracket isn't just a top bracket flipped upside down is it?

That's definitely a jacking point. The part number doesn't come up in our system, as we only had one model of Wagon R here, and only for 2 years. It also fits a Suzuki Kei and MR Wagon, neither of which we got over here, so probably why I didn't find it.

This is one of the joys of working on your own cars, when you search for that part that dealers/motor factors say isn't available, but you find is, and also very cheap too

Had something similar at a ford dealership, trying to get some fog light covers for a fiesta 1.6tdci which they said didn't exist, complained to ford UK who also said they didn't exist, gave up and stuck with the basic model.
1 week later the O/S cover popped up on ebay brand new, purchased it and walked into ford parts with it, the N/S was ordered 5 minutes later with a smug grin.

I can sympathise with the dealer a bit, presuming that he was being honest. Our parts catalogue (not Suzuki, but a fairly large car company) is awful, we often find that the outside versions used by body shops, are more accurate than the one given to us dealers! We regularly have to use the helpline to find missing information, so they moved it to an email based system which now takes several hours, instead of a few minutes on the phone! Dealers may well be doing their best with poor systems. I have not used Suzuki's system, so may be completely wrong, but certainly the case for the two companies that I regularly use.
