To be honest I don't know fore sure what the wheels are from. A friend and someone on here has said they are. The damage on the rim isn't a single hit bit it looks like it's been driven along a kerb a fair distance. I would think some careful filing and sanding and some epoxy filler of some sort would have it looking good again quite quickly.

Did the wet vac work to get the hairs out? my range rover has loads of short dog hairs stuck in the headlining, I have tried upholsteery cleaner and sticky tape but there are still quite a few left. What were you doing with the dog?  ?  |

Sent some time on this, fixed the brakes and did a scrappy visit to find some replacement bits of trim for to replace the broken bits. Found a pair of nearly new rear shocks to replace the originals that were falling apart and a radio with a code for £10. I'm finally getting somewhere with the interior. I got a replacement dash surround as mine had been butchered by someone getting the stereo out. they and some of the other parts have a rubbery coating on them to help disguise the it's all nasty plastic but with age they go sticky and the coating scrapes off.  I found that this scrapes off and once cleaned up with brake cleaner looks a lot better for not much money. It takes hours though !  It's pretty much ready to get an MOT now, if it passes I will give it service/cam belt and it will then be used as much as possible to make sure it's OK to use for our holiday. |

Thought I would put this thread out of it's misery. This poor old heap has a new MOT and for what it is doesn't drive too bad. I was a bit worried about the amount of water coming out of the exhaust but this dried up when it had been driven. Must have just been from being stood around and not running properly. I decide spending £50 on one tyre with the possibility of having to buy some more soon not a great idea so found a set of standard steel wheels with decent tyres. The special interior cleaner I bought seems to have worked well and after letting off a vanilla odour bomb and spraying everything with Fabreeze berry crush it doesn't smell too bad inside either. Fortunately it all turned out quite well and I have a useable 7 seater for about £500. Just need to drive it a bit now to make sure nothing drops off.   |
