Hmmm, if so, then why not add some colorcoded wood to the front and below the doors, and then put the standard bumper about a foot lower.
And maybe replace the rubber mat with wood, too?!
Although this might tend to become something like those russian cardboard tuning jokes of one or two decades ago. Sorry.

I've been google imaging Honda Actys and I found this. It's a bad photo and I can't find one from the front quarter, but how about an exo-skeleton roll cage / bull bar combo? Actually seems to run down the load bed and form a rear bumper bar / tail lamp protector as well.

Very minty ! If you mount that bumper under the bumper how will the cooling be ? Lots or grills down there ?! James

James The cooling itself is another bridge to cross - I was hoping this would sit below the majority of the grills - that air is directed into the radiator that sits below the bed behind the cab.

Plan b on the rubber flap came to fruition, it looks better, is a stronger and tighter fit and I think will stand the test of time. It doesn’t look minty at all here thanks to the fading light and adjusting the brightness on the phone but I’m pleased. Final job was to apply some soft99 glaco to the windscreen which is apparently very good - a lot better than my windscreen wipers then! It’s basically a Japanese rainX from what I can tell. It’s applied like a scuff stick for trainers... Leave it like this for twelve hours ... Then I’ll buff it off with a microfibre in the morning. Like I say my wipers are terrible so hoping this negates the need for them - that’s the idea any way - and I’m struggling to find wiper blade refills that are narrow enough to fit my wiper arms.

Great work. Quite jealous as I have a long way to go and I'm forced to take time off from my car for the foreseeable. I feel like you're racing ahead. Looks verrrr gutte!
I must get some of that Glaco too.

Cheers, I’m in a similar boat to be honest which is why I’ve been working to a deadline of this weekend because this is my last chance to finish stuff before my first show on 6th May. Just make lists and focus on the top priority stuff one bit at a time without worrying about the whole picture.

Been a longterm follower of your van projects and love them Saw this on Instagram and thought of you, well your van really, I seldom think of you So glad that you thought of me (my van) That colour is perfect but it's just all too clean and new and shiny and Japanesey. Don't get me wrong if I could have two kei trucks I'd probably do one like that but there seems to be lots of people that do the drift truck look to them and I personally prefer the aged gracefully timeless look rather than the here and now modern look.

Off on a complete tangent but after looking into the 80s authenticity of some accessories I’m considering I came across on-line Argos catalogues and this was a nice nostalgia trip.... issuu.com/retromash/docs/argos-no25-1986-springsummer/1?ff=trueI’d heard of people putting photos of old catalogues on line but I didn’t realise you could browse page to page on online magazine reader sites. And it turns out my latest purchase for my truck to hide my modern tent in is right of age...
