New headlights have arrived... The chrome retaining rings and eyelids will be gloss black DRL... Indicator... Not sure if this is dipped or main beam... Yes it’s a completely different more modern look to the classic original style but my intention with the rebuild is to get it to look as though it’s a factory Honda 2020 release inspired by an original 70s / 80s Acty. Think new beetle / new mini / new fiat 500.

Mabie keep the bumper, or a smaller bumper, but in bodycolour.

Further to the video I posted last night, today was one of those car collection missions starting out with a normal work day 5:40am alarm clock but this time rather than a drive to Stoke to work all day it was a morning of train journies. 06:18 > Cannock station 06:43 > Train 1/3 (Cannock - Birmingham New Street At this point realised that my emergency toolkit might be a bit smaller than necessary, I could easily have brought a 13mm and 15mm too oh and some cable ties. It’s like going to play golf for just a driver, a 3 wood and a sand wedge without taking a 7 iron or a 9 iron... 07:32 > platform 1a waiting for train 2/3 (Birmingham New Street - Bristol Temple Meads) 09:12 > Platform 5 a pastie aroma fills the air but no time for eating, train 3/3 (Bristol Temple Meads - Sea Mills) is due any minute 09:35ish > @mrpollitt arrives in his latest rover with a 90s flash LED car computer thing and takes me to his unit before i get to meet my latest toy - a fun project to work on with Ethan for the weekender. 10:11 > A couple of photos mid-test drive ... V5 filled in, money transferred, fuel tank filled, and insured for £9 a month... 10:53 > Few more photos without trees casting shadows over the beauty... Japanese Technology, Malaysian Style. What more could anyone want?! A quick wee stop before a drive north up the M5 in the blustery winds causing a few unplanned lane changes but all good, fuel consumption seems good too. 13:18 > Home safe and sound for a few interior shots... I love the rotary washer and light controls, although a 90s car it’s 70s / 80s genes are clear to see. Fifty shades of beige... So what’s the plan? Well it’s all about mario for Ethan at the moment so he wants it red but it has a green gear lever and steering wheel so I suggested Luigi. Ethan’s answer? Half and half split. Graffiti paint was original plan but I think the original paint condition is too good so vinyl is the order of the day which gives me chance to revert back to standard to sell on when the Acty is back. Maybe lows too.

Glad you made it home safely.
It was painful having to sell it - I love that little thing. However, I knew it was in good hands as soon as you saw it, so I'm glad I did.
Can't wait to see what you do with it.

hang on here , i know its the weekend and i may have partaken in just a drop of grape juice... but in the space of half a page we have gone from judge dredd-esque headlights to a slighty excited little person then on to a malaysian limo that's about to acquire to crazy theme in lieu of a mysteriously vanished motorised minty wheel barrow? ? can someone give me the phone number for the priory...i think i'm having "an episode"!!!!

'80 s1 924 turbo..hibernating '80 golf gli cabriolet...doing impression of a skip '97 pug 106 commuter...continuing cheapness making me smile!
firm believer in the k.i.s.s and f.i.s.h principles.

Acty is under long term maintenance. Suzuki is too modern / standard to show at my usual shows. I have a ticket for the weekender but alas no car to show. A car comes up for sale that is old enough for RR and unusual enough for my mantra yet new enough and reliable enough to just do its business when needed, fingers crossed, at a price that I can recuperate once the Acty is back on the road. I struggle to avoid acting when ideas fizzle in my mind like a quaver on a tongue.

Debadge / desticker time That’s better... Bumper strips are held on with plastic pegs but door strips aren’t... I’ll remove the adhesive remains when I have more time.

Ha ha, I'm sure I'll cope.
TBH I kind of wish I went down that route, it looks so clean and uncluttered. Good work!
