Cheers Adey Another 63 mile round trip buzzing to and from work in the Acty today. I’m starting to push it to its limits a bit more now, hopefully without getting over confident, but it does really handle nicely on the new rear tyres. It’s almost feeling more go kart like than dodgem like now. Today’s lunch time foray was measuring up and making partial templates for the new headlining fabric. And I’ve also started scraping off the remains of the glue / sponge from the original headlining, it’s very enjoyable! Hopefully this video works although it might be less enjoyable to watch than doing it and making progress! http://instagram.com/p/BmL1xdygly4 I’ve also got two other projects ongoing, at least one of which will be ready for RRG hopefully. Project 1 involves bolting stainless discs to the wheel studs in front of the front steel wheels in a turbo fan type way to make them appear more similar to the rear wheels. Project 2 involves getting the image wheels made up in 3.5” width to match the standard steels so the tyres will tuck nicely into the tubbed arches. Any slight variance will stretch the tyres slightly too much to fit in the gap in the arches. So if project 2 isn’t possible- ie minimum with too wide or offset limits not viable then I’ll go with option 1. Comparison between image wheel at 5” wide and steel at 3.5” wide... Harry at image did say it should be viable if width needs to come off the inner which is the case - it’s just difficult to tell if the mount face of the two wheels are in the equivalent position.

Is it just me, or does this image say "Delicious" to anyone else?

From a Kentucky fried perspective, or a bag of scratchings from the chippy perspective.

Out of sequence, so the cables not black, as this was on my camera rather than phone but here’s how the satnav looks on the phone when velcroed to the dash...

If you use sygic as your sat-nav you get built in dashcam - covers more bases Coming along nicely - when will you know when to stop to avoid being over-done ? James

James Thanks, only trouble with the dashcam option is that the lens on my phone is below the window height - i did it that way around so the cables were on the centre dashboard side and also so i have access to the volume buttons. It terms of knowing when to stop I'm pretty much there now. snag list...Front wheels New headlining Driver side floor clean up and paint Passenger side dashtop pad Hook for head bag so it doesn't cover now-pretty floor or now-tidy seat potential future stuff...box section frames to refit the side panels spaced out wider than the rear wheels widened rear panel sectioned lid to sit above deck sides / rear panel to contain everything "now you're just being silly" stuff...raise engine / steering components for more lows full strip down and repaint in glossy minty paint

Plan 2 for the wheels in terms of making the image wheels narrower is a no go. They can be made to the right width / offset but the bolts that hold the faces to the dishes would foul the drums so the only option would be to build new 12” wheels but then tyres would be an extra .9” overall diameter. So plan 1 then is to get some stainless discs made up to cover the whole of the steel wheel, if any of the wheels are visible I’ll get them powdercoated in chrome / bright silver too. I went out scouting for photoshoot locations today, imagine little Acty in foreground...

If you hadn't said why those stickers were there I'd've assumed they were always there. Clever thinking with the spare stud lengths for the new trims too.

This week’s mind worm has been how to display a spec list in keeping with the theme rather than having a blatant here’s a spec list printed off and stuck in the windscreen which spoils the look in photos. IMHO! You may remember in my gaming inspired cube I slotted a tablet with a looped video into a 9” crt monitor. Well inspiration hit me on my journey home this evening. Behold an old paint pot that i had kept in case it became useful one day. Well today is that paint pot’s lucky day because it got washed and the flakey paint got scraped off! And then it got luckier and mintier because it was treated to a nice new shiny minty vinyl wrap... ... and then I filled one of the many holes in the back panel with an M5 bolt through a hook which can now hold said bucket at shows... I just need to print my spec list onto a big label and it’s done. 😊

Excellent progress.
Mindworms are just awesome.
Mine is currently Honda HR-V shaped.
That’s not CR-V shaped.
Even got a thread going.

Works out a lot when it’s all written down... I just need to print on a label and then cover with waterproof vinyl to preserve it better for rainy shows. edit : i've spotted misspelt POLISHED!

I’ve fitted hooks under the dashboard to keep the head bag off the now clean seat and floor, I need to tweak the positioning of the straps a little so it sits straight.

Its all comming together with the recent additions, that vinyl wrapped bucket is a great idea. I cant help but think your sports bag might need upgrading
