Saw the metalwork being done on this in Birmingham when my car was being painted. So cool. Cheers, just checked your thread and yours was the yellow rx3 then. I think @jonnybravo posted a photo in his thread of your car while it was at DC. . I’ll read through your post properly later.

Phil I've noticed on a few of your pics, when it's lowered on the passenger side there is an amber light in front of the rear wheel is there a reason for it? ?

Hi It’s an aftermarket side repeater - the only indicators on the sides of my model of Acty are the edges of the front clusters and since I removed those when I fitted my headlights with integrated indicator rings I fitted the site repeaters onto the plates that I fitted that hit the ground first when I drop the suspension.

You do know side repeaters are only mandatory on cars first used after April 1 1986 right?

Yes DC Customs did the paint on it after a major screw up with another paint shop who did more harm than good. Darryn and crew took it back to bare metal and spents weeks prepping it before paint. Really happy with the result. I'm still catching up on writing my thread but will post some paint photos soon. I think i'm up to about 2014 in the thread so far Look forward to seeing your slammed acty again. I have a soft spot for mini vans, was looking at importing a Kei truck from Japan. Good ones don't come up for sale often though. Then there's this!

Yeah I’ve been reading your thread but bit too technical for me at the moment but I saw some of the progress photos on Instagram at the time - I was watching out for updates on my truck at the same time. Mine wasn’t a good one until Darryn got his hands on it.

I spent a couple of hours this morning removing the original fuel tank, pump, and filter. The tank came out easily enough - 3 x 12mm head bolts into blind threads in the chassis. The fuel pump was trickier as I had to get access to the top of the 10mm bolts but one of my spanners was hiding, after struggling for ages with a tube spanner which I kept dropping I gave up and found my normal spanner so that I could use that on the bolt heads about the pump and the socket wrench on the nuts below. They freed up easily enough when I used the right tools. Then it was off with the hose clips and hose removed before taking the 4 6mm bolts out of the filler cap. Luckily the cap base itself is threaded so they held themselves in place while I removed the nuts. I also tidied up a few cables underneath that needed securing better and removed my oil filler hose as I can route that more directly now the fuel tank is gone. I measured up for a replacement oil filler hose - I’ll make the most of it up by using aluminium pipe this time around with just hose connecting up the elbows to route it to the oil filler cap in the bed. I’ll clean up where the fuel filler cap was and the hole will be covered by a luggage / ICE box that I’ll be building soon that will also replace the suitcases and go up to level with the tops of the dropsides so hopefully it will look original.
