Self sufficient... £65.40 a month saving against the Elgrand with all costs taken into account except for insurance - that leads to an even bigger saving but as I pay annually it’s not noticeable month on month. Impressed so far albeit only over 32 miles learning its drive. It did cause two incidents of rash overtaking by cars behind though, interesting difference in attitude compared to when I’m in the elgrand even when I’m travelling at the same speed as I always do - I suffered the same with the alto. Presumably people think I’m an old lady in it.

I know QM would probably disagree, but I love that Ignis. I had the HQ press release one for the weekend, and had an absolute blast in it. Did nearly 1000km in 2.5 days and giving it a hiding through some twisty roads had me grinning like a loon. Small cars are not “small cars” anymore. I think the competition and costs are both strong factors in build quality and specifications these days. So something small like this will rival a small family saloon from 10 or even less years ago on all levels. And they are probably practical too.

Nice, I do like the Ignis. Although I am disappointed that you didn't get a cactus as I want to see someone do something interesting with one and I'm too skint to buy one 😂

I've bought this so i leave well alone! (apart from essential pocket money mods) I'll leave the cactus for another day when i'm ready to modify something modern again.

Seem to be holding firm at £7k for the 1.2 turbos, few years before they fall into the affordable category 😥 Done a virtual one lol

Former head of spare parts for one of the Suzuki distributors here in Oz.

Turquoise over black cross-mesh 3 piece wheels with chrome studs is what i can imagine.

You can see where Suzuki got some of its styling inspiration from... Ignis Whizzkid especially around the rear 3/4

Yes, the cervo/fronte adidas stripes were the inspiration for the ignis'. Suzuki japan made it a point in their (weak) advertising blurb sent to distributors.

Economy is just getting better now I’m using the motorways... And a spare badge and pair of grill bars have arrived to paint black for the stealth look...

The bmw wheel trims are on. Good condition considering eBay photo only showed the one - I was dreading the other three to be cracked. As you might know by now I much prefer the look of a smoother, flat wheel. Typically after I’d bought these I had responses to my wanted ad for a set of Saab stainless trims so they will be my summer trims and these will be my winter trims. Much easier to swap than alloys!

Moon Discs = better aerodynamics - ask the Landspeed boys! Maybe an extra 0.2mpg?

Yes I did think these or the Saab ones will help mpg as a lot of economy based cars have smooth wheels as oem fitment - like the Volvo e-drive Libra wheels which are some of my favourites. The Saab ones are pretty much moon discs with holes for brake cooling and to allow cable ties “just in case”.

Just another confirmation of the superiority of the 2CV design with its inboard front discs. No need for moon discs with holes
