I'm testing the water here, I have a japanese import 1995 Nissan Homy/caravan GT cruise, it's a 2.7 turbo diesel automatic, the engine is the same as the nissan terrano/ford maverick/London taxi and has done 66k miles
All the underpinnings are based on the terrano or the urvan so parts are moderately easy to find.
It's an 8 seater, 2 front seats, 3 middle(2/1) and 3 rear, the middle single seat can be spun round/removed, the twin seat can be turned sideways/rearwards, and the 3 rear can be folded up to the side or be removed, behind the rear seats is a huge boot space.
It has a sunroof up front and huge moon roof in the back, as well as curtains, the moonroof and curtains are controlled by the remote control (yes, you read that right..)
I recently had the balljoints changed, track rod ends, rack gaiters, brake pads, oil and filter, new alternator, battery, wipers, rear light etc so everything is good to go, and it has 11 months mot, it fires up and runs perfectly, as it should with its low miles.
It's metallic grey, beige interior, could do with a t-cut and polish which will be done if/when spring arrives, it needs an hour or so welding along the o/s sill and has a few little marks here and there as you'd expect on a 20yr old bus, but nothing major at all.
It's on alloy wheels, I also have two Berg deep dish alloy wheels with low offset that are the same style as the wheels that are on it, I was going to put these on the rear for a hot rod look.
The front suspension is on torsion bars so can be lowered dead easy, the rear can be lowered on shackles and blocks.
It would make a fantastic hot rod styled bus, a day van, camper, way cheaper and far more reliable than a VW, with more comforts/gadgets/power steering etc, insurance is simple with Brentacre insurance, they quoted me £390 fully comp as a 2nd vehicle.
I'd like £2000 for it, or swap for a roof chopped volksrod/ something hot-rod style/ nissan bluebird estate/ rover 1275 mini/why? With a bit of cash either way, Kawasaki w650, xvs650 bikes etc
Oh, I'm near wigan/St Helens too.
