For reasons I can't yet divulge, I find myself looking at Morris Minors. A lot. However, I don't know a lot about them, i just know I've always liked the look of them. Even more so when modified, though only when they're done right - basically I like the look of them when they're low and sporty. So, if you'd be so kind, RR, could you show me, educate me and inspire me in the way of the wee Morris? Here are some snaps togged things going... Chris

Excellent stuff all, though now the thoughts are really flowing.
I'd also completely forgot about the chopped one above, which is odd considering I was blown away by it.

Good God, that's magnificent.
Was it a swine to get all mechanicals in there?

No, JLH put it together. Minor engine bay is quite wide as the were originally designed for a flat 4 engine but ultimately ended up with a inline 4 sidevalve. If you are going V8 you'll want a separate chassis though. Common engine swaps are warmed A Series, Fiat Twin cam, K-Series, 4AGE and Zetec and access is easy. That said it did need the engine crossmember notching though. Something else worth noting is that saloons and convertibles are monocoque, Travellers have a semi rigid chassis and get their strength from the woodwork and roof, while vans and pickups have a separate chassis with a cab dropped on top. Mk2 Escort english rear axle is a straight fit but arches on the front wings are needed or 0 offset wheels if lowered much more. There's so much blue oval stuff in there I was going to send it to Retro Ford magazine

I'm currently absorbing the build thread, it's quite an impressive amount of detail that you've gone into in terms of the build.
Honestly love it, it just looks clean and cute. But I should imagine it's a perfect 'deny day' car, plus it must go quite well.
The problem is that I now REALLY want one.

I really like mine - it's only a cheap runaround and completely stock, but fun handling. Not quick as it's a stock 1098cc though! Prices for scruffy ones like mine are super-low, and parts availability is great, especially around the Bristol area I keep on having bad thoughts about an MX5 or similar engine and gearbox

Needs more 8s and Bs in the reg! Cute motor though, and yeah, you're right about the Bristol area. There's a specialist in town, isn't there? Chris
