Hey all,
New to forum, had a look at all your sweet rides and thought I'd throw the rover up to keep track of build and let you's all have a look..
So picked it up at end of November for the pricey sum of £280. Bone stock apart from a 4' Fartcan.
Got it home everything seemed fine with it apart from a blow in the exhaust and a leaking rocker gasket, so got those sorted and a few weeks later she was on the road.
First up was taking the huge grill off and trying on bbs reps off the golf.
Then lows
Tidied the engine bay up a bit
I bought a honda concerto grill and modified it to fit
Then with it smoothed into the plastics strips under the nights and welded up the grill holes in bonnet and filled
Also threw on a splitter i had laying around and made some bonnet raisers
And a tow hook for giggles
Being too cold out to really do any bodywork in the driveway i moved onto the interior
A fella on one of those buy and sell pages was giving away half leather interior out of a 206 so naturally i went and pick it up, so far I've modified the fronts to fit with the rover rails
They need a good clean tbh lol
I picked up a doublin din stereo cheap local and removed the 2 centre grills to throw in a couple of ebay gauges, voltmeter and a oil pressure gauge
Fed up of looking at that boring cream dash and wood trim I bought some fake suede off ebay and wrapped my dash black, i actually just done this yesturday, started at 3 and just got it back in and together by half 9 lol long but i think it was worthwhile, always wanted to give it a go so
Wee bit of stickerbomb vinyl aswell, still need to do door cards and try and fit the rear seats at some stage, aswell as spraying the roofliner black on the interior front..
For the exterior i bought a set of fiberglass arch extensions on ebay but not entirely sure on these yet, both arches on the drivers side are crusty so i was just gonna cut them and put the the extensions on but i might just weld them up and paint. There is also a few rusty bits on doors that need looked at and the grill i made and the lower bonnet needs sprayed.
Fun wee car to drive and blast about in, anyway i'll keep you's posted from here on in the story with her
Cheers Jason
