Got to finish it - I have ever increasing list of people wanting to have a run or a drive in it - Its getting to the point where if I charged admission I would be able to buy another one They are a wonderfully daft thing. You can kind of see that with the impending threat of the end of Dino juice drinking transportation looming on the horizon why some would be willing to spend larger and larger sums on lunatic creations like this in order to make their last days filled with as much noise, flames, and sensory overload as possible before an electronically constrained whining formula e soundtrack becomes the norm.

I might have to nick that last paragraph. Very well put. Maybe a new advertising slogan for any car companies still selling dino fuelled cars.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated as always - Regretfully the build is dragging on a fair bit longer than I would have liked but I do have every intention to make some better progress with it this year.

Cheers all,
I am hopeful of getting onto this in the next few weeks with work starting in a more serious way in April. Due the limited space I have to working with these projects - single garage - there are many instances where projects have to wait for work on another to be completed.
With the Strato’s it’s
Complete the cage in the G15 G15 moves onto the trailer in the garden Gemini moves from trailer to garage Complete wiring works on Gemini + other works and get it on the road. Move Gemini onto drive Find somewhere to store the Strato’s bodywork and move the chassis from the drive to the garage. Get moving on the Strato’s chassis.
In the mean time also go do some work on my G27 which is at my mates place which will involve working on his 1275 Mini project.
Oh and find somewhere to put a G21
Problems - but problems I am lucky to have.

So where were we.
Complete the cage in the G15 - Done YAY G15 moves onto the trailer in the garden - Nope - G21 is now on the trailer and the trailer and G21 are now in storage. Gemini moves from trailer to garage - Not yet Complete wiring works on Gemini + other works and get it on the road. - Need to do that Move Gemini onto drive Eventually Find somewhere to store the Strato’s bodywork and move the chassis from the drive to the garage. Need to work that out Get moving on the Strato’s chassis. Soon However - when the sun shines there is the opportunity to throw the covers back and do a few jobs. And today was the chance to look at the front alloy side panels and the "Elephant Ears" closing panels for the front wheel arches. The alloy panels had been chopped about by the original builder and the shape of the LB body id subtly different to the Hawk shell that was on it. The alloy will need to be extended to pick up the upper radiator mount and also shaped to suit the profile of the ducted bonnet. No picture of the rad ..... Trimmed "Elephant Ear" - took an age There's the rad. Inside the arch. Progress... Need to get some card and extend the side panels and then cut and fold them from some nice new alloy.

Quick job today - welding some M12 nuts onto jacks to make them act a bit quicker with an impact gun etc. Also built up some weld on the lawn mover blade and gave it a sharpen before cutting the grass.

Another one of these hateful things has turned up on eBay link Not sure what the reserve is set at but a £10K start has got to be at the upper end even though already attracted a few bids. Litton Corse S - S for Strut - Mine is an i - Independent rear. The bodywork on the Litton was never the best and the Stradale is not the most desirable but easy enough converted to GP4 - you can tell Litton bodywork by the not overly great fit and finish and the dreadful flat roof spoiler. They need a fair bit of effort to get looking as good as anything made by LB or Hawk. I am not convinced that the Alfa V6 will fit in that chassis without quite a bit of extra work. Still they do not come up for sale often and the LB Hawk waiting lists are quite long.

Why would you build it around a 1600? They were no cheaper than the 2000. Anything that is "almost ready for an IVA" rings many warning bells. I quite like the Stradale, but I think they have to be nicer than a rally rep, otherwise they just look unfinished/cheap. Wonder what it will go for. I reckon someone will convince themselves that spending a few quid they can make it really nice and sell it for £50k so it will inflate significantly. £20k?

I reckon someone will convince themselves that spending a few quid they can make it really nice and sell it for £50k so it will inflate significantly. £20k? Good question - especially when you spend nothing on said 1600 and leave it with the stock carb and air cleaner - 100BHP? Must admit that 95% complete - all parts available to complete - ready for IVA - just a few weekends to finish etc. comments always make me laugh. Agree totally, a Stradale has to be paint and finish perfect - I cannot see a stock Litton S getting to £50K any time soon and not with the original bodywork - The V6 conversion is a lot of work - The interior would all need throwing away - sensible thing is to sell the bodywork and buy a new shell from LB - In essence, to build a decent car you would be starting with an old Litton chassis and nothing more - The only advantage is that you are not on a Hawk or LB waiting list. Absolute top dollar on that project starter kit would be £15K - Which is twice what I would pay.

Its like one of those spot the issue pictures. The more you look at it, the more you realise you should close the tab and stop looking.

Saw the eBay add... is that expanding foam by the horns for trunking housing? Yes - Not quite sure what is going on there - First off those horrible flexible hoses and that odd vented alloy closing panel - Looks like the builder also followed the assembly instructions of filling the space between the bodywork and the sills with expanding foam as well looking at the engine bay above - not a good move.

"Almost ready for IVA" - if it's almost ready then put it through - worth far more as a registered car!

Bearing in mind that the seller lowered the reserve with about 3 days to go it still did not meet it. Nearly £18K for an unregistered Litton with a 1600 Twink is considerably over what I would estimate its worth at. £18K would buy an awful lot of LB even with a long waiting list. WOW.
