Now trying to talk myself out of buying this as a project - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295607277721 It had better be gone by the weekend snapped up by someone who can see what a bargain this is. I know projects can be very tempting but I think you have a few on the go already... Get well soon, dude.

I know projects can be very tempting but I think you have a few on the go already... Get well soon, dude. Past the worst of it now - just trying to deal with the lethargy. You are of course 100% correct in regard to another project car but, as I don't have the energy to work on the ones I have, pressing go on another one does seem like I would at least doing something...... My brain certainly has some disconnect going on.

Sorry to hear about the Covid. That Stylus is a ruddy bargain - just the parts costs alone! Bet the location of Inverness puts a lot of folks off "if only you were nearer!" even though for £1200 more he'll add in the clubman trailer, and deliver it for fuel costs. I expect your piggy bank is starting to tremble!

......I expect your piggy bank is starting to tremble! It's a temptation - but this morning things took a bit of a 180 with the new job - on the upside I would now have plenty of time to work on it, as I now have with the other projects, but on the downside I need to watch finances a bit closer - Sadly my initial concerns about the MD really not knowing quite what he was doing have proven well founded. Still going to watch it though I will run through my thoughts on the financials with this. Car trailer delivery 5500+1200+300 so £7K to the door. Flip the trailer - assuming its worth what paid - £1200 - maybe make a few quid if lucky that will cover some of the delivery. Actually better to just avoid the hassle of reselling and just pay the delivery. I already have a Brian James Clubman. So its circa - £5800 to the door - Still a lot to do and not 100% knowing the standard of what has been done. Chassis painted POR15 is a 50/50 if it sticks or not. Wheels with it are Meh! 14's not a great size and the Minilites need Painting and if 14's again hmmm. Then need to rebuild it all back together again. Although some very nice parts regarding the Engine, ITB's, Weber Alfa, system - It's probably still only worth £6500-7000 when completed. And there lies the dilemma when looking at these sorts of projects. There really is little financial viability in it because you are very likely spending at least £500 to complete it - and as the seller says it needs a repaint then its never going to see any sort of return. As it's non running and non driving - the risk is all with the buyer.

There where 2 Americans desperate for kits on Stratosec Not that desperate, that Corse is still on eBay and not seen anything about the ex racer on FBM selling - The basic Hawk Kit is only a little bit more + VAT and includes many more parts - Is saving the time on the waiting list worth risking the issues with a 30 year old kit.... If the guy selling the eBay Corse was sensible - £9995 / offers - he could probably have it sold - the buyer may even have a feeling of being quite pleased with themselves until the reality of actually building a 30 year old Corse catches them up.

Whilst still not really firing on all cylinders I have been doing a little bit of work on the Stratos - The couple of hole shown up by the blasting have been welded and I have a piece of replacement steel ready for the rear crossmember. The replacement radiator is a very close fit between the chassis rails on the Litton and the rad mounts are very different so I have an alternative mount method to figure out. The box that the rad came in made a handy template. Splashed out on some new screen rubber for the bulkhead window

Cheers Guy's - motivation is slowly returning but the energy levels are far from back to normal. The window rubber is as close as I could find to what was on it - standard Claytonrite stuff - I get mine from COH Baines - coh-baines.co.uk/ The Stratos rear screen frame is 1.2mm and the pane standard 4.0mm ish - IRS0634 3m's + black insert LF1B The other stuff purchased was all the insert tools - not cheap - and some test profiles for the G15 rubbers. G15 stuff I will put the G15 thread when I give it a test.

Started with the paint. See how far I get with it over the weekend. Also spent a bit of time making a couple of brackets for the radiator which came out very nice and I was very pleased with the way the looked and fitted right up to the point where I put the tape on it and found it was 15mm taller than it should have been ! So much for those careful calculations. Rather than mess about guessing and cutting stuff off and starting again it can wait until the front is back on. Need to order up so PU sealer for the rear window and other parts.

What would your guess be on the weight of your bare Litton chassis

A bit more paint thrown on it and I gave the floor a sand off (the inside) and dropped it on with a few PK's Looking more like it now Got a hand with dropping right side down And I can get on with painting the engine cradle. All the suspension components were dropped off in town for blasting and powder coating - nothing special, just plain old black same as before. Should have them back for the weekend. Need to order up some PU for when the new floor gets bonded on.
