Time for an update, with exciting new bike content!!! Pics are just what i had on my phone from recently, ill need to get some better ones..
Enfield is going well, changed exhaust to a chrome one
The vespa had been going fine, i got a puncture and the tyres were old anyway so i got SIP tubeless alloy rims with SIP performer tyres, also took exhaust off and painted it then gave the bike a super in depth cleaning.
Was out on a ride and got about 30 miles from home, bike was going great, then it just cut out. Felt like it had run out of fuel but it had loads in the tank so suspected blocked carb, stripped it and all seemed fine then checked for spark and it had none.
Couldnt get it going again so got a lift home on the back of a mates vespa as there were a few of us out, went back with my trailer and got it.
Threw it in the garage and ignored it for a month until the other day, after some hoking about it turns out the ignition switch or its wiring has gone faulty, i disconnected it and away she went. So still need to fix the switch but glad its going again.
I finally broke that CZ i got for parts for my clean one so hope to get my clean blue one going soon.
And now my new bike just got this last night, am stoked to have found one. I know these are probably easier to find on the mainland but i live in ireland and its a much smaller market and mopeds arent that easy to find, especially not rarer variants. Have wanted one of these for ages, never even seen one in real life before.
Its a 1980 Puch Maxi with a two speed ZA50 motor and mags, which i think makes the model a maxi sport?
Anyway, saw it on gumtree and in the pic i immediately realised from the engine cover that it had a 2 speed ZA50 motor instead of the usual single speed E50. Was only about an hour away out in the country so went to get it, the guy was a biker really nice chap, he had bought it at an auction years ago and put it in the shed, never used it, he didnt really know much about it.
Its had a wack spray can paint job but engine was free with loads of compression and it has a V5, overall not bad shape for a moped.
Put some fuel down the plug hole and pedalled it over and it fired up for a few seconds so all looking pretty promising although there are a lot of jobs needing doing on it before youd ride it on the road. Plan is to get it fixed up for an mot asap then make it pretty later..
Started sorting through some parts i had stashed away
He also threw me in this puch bicycle but am getting rid of it lol
I still have my other two puchs and two honda caminos so ill update later on those i guess.
