As the sun was out and we couldn't make it to Santa Pod, me and street took a trip to the local scrappers to console ouselves. This is what we found... ^ Toyota Starlet ^ Triumph Acclaim ^ Pretty well ransacked J-wagon ^ Unfinished project Mk5 which was home to... ...an Essex V6. The first one of the day. ^ Nissan Sunny coop ^ Audi Titty, seen better days I think... ^ Micra. There were quite a few of these ^ Sad looking VW ^ Super cool Subaru ^ One of two Mk3's. The other was a 3-door. ^ Surprisingly rusty CRX ^ Daimler with what looked like hand-painted bodywork ^ Ambassador. Looked very clean! ^ Coleman Milne! Housing the 2nd Essex of the day. How this escaped the oval I'll never know. There were some other retros that I didn't snap as my mitts were getting filthier and I didn't want to mess up my phone. Good retro haul though. We got some bits for Street's Mk3 Escort. Nice day for a bit of spannering.

Those Subaru Leone Estates are superb, must be in single figures by now! Nice spottings.

Where is this scrappy BenzyBoy? The mirrors on that acclaim look in better nick than my ones.

Are they OK with just wandering around there? I thought they were fairly professional, in a sort of 'wait there and we'll go and fetch it' way, or pre-stripped cars for parts. If it's a proper old wander-around scrappy I might take a trip

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.

They do have another part of the compound where they're a bit more "what are you after, mate?" but generally you can wander round and play cars all day without being bothered

I cant help wondering what the chain of events leading to the Mk5 Cortina being in there might be.
Poor old 3-dr BG Mazda 323 next to the Starlet. I`m the only person in the world championing their cause at the moment, but give it 5 years and that late model 928 style continous rear light effect panel coupled with the fact that rear end is almost octagonal when viewed from above will make them a highly prized item in J circles!
As far as the Coleman-Milnes`s escape from the oval is concerned, I have seen more cunning ones, possibly not the kind of escape it was hoping for!

I want to rescue this. My uncle had one just like it. Rather enjoy a good wander round the scrappers just looking.

Too right! Nipped back today for a few more parts then locked my keys in the car parked outside the yard office at closing time! Oh the shame
