We have a winnnnnneeeeeeeer Pet Shop Boys - Ford Cortina Mk3. Thought that was an easy link. Should have said "The Pet Shop Boys have no socks" or something just to avoid people going off down the Wolesley track needlessly. yeah, a largely overhauled and moderately modified Mk3 Cortina.

From 'dick dastardly'? Excellent work. It is the Dastardlymobile. Well it's the AKKUmobile now. Therefore I'll wager on melt-down occurring unexpectedly before the weekend is out.

Its worth a mini-OOOF I reckon.
The wheels are 15s. They kinda work. If I saw them not on the car I'd not fit them. But they do work on there.
Nothing will change at all in the short term.
Its a kind of double edged sword.
New car = all the enthusiasm to do stuff to it, but this car has been done 99% the way I'd have done it if I had done it. All the GT stuff, an RS steering wheel, Defelx bushes, shocks, proper springs - rides firm but hot harsh... low but not silly low. Although the rear could do with coming a notch closer to the ground...
With it all being done to my tastes means I don;t get to "put my mark on it".
Well, not just yet.
I might get some reto style high backs for the front, fit rear belts and maybe go to inertia reel in the front.
Needs a setero
other than that.
Drive it.
No effort really required.
Slot mags may have to feature in its future. As indeed should the stock rims with the stock hubcaps - and some banding...

Boring photo but when did you last see an unwelded boot floor like that in a Mk3? Maybe when I was about five, and I was in the boot holding the bolts while my dad fitted a towbar. Looks great AK, like the wheels. Please don’t do anything to it between now and the shows, like mend anything on it, attempt some bodywork, or even drive it. RESIST THE URGE!

Good plans AKKU. I must say when DD first posted it for sale on BSC I spent a frantic 5 minutes scouring the cupboards for a pile of £20 notes I might just have forgotten about. Of course no-one ever forgets about a big pile of £20's, so OBV I wasn't going to find any.

watch out for the nearside rear spring falling over as you drive into petrol stations if you lower it much more at the back.

It actually looks better IRL than in that side profile photo. That just looks a wee bit too much air gap to me. But thats being picky maybe. Meh.
I think I'm picking it up on Sunday so it won't be at the Pod saturday.
