What have you managed to progress over the weekend/last couple of weeks where I have failed to make this thread? I've got exciting progress on the garage front, but it'll have to wait until I'm at a proper computer

Well I started this on Tuesday. The garage just needed a sort out, it's been bugging me for a while, it's nothing special but it's becoming a nicer place to be. I've split a metal shelving unit in half to make a bench, added a shelved cupboard one end and my top box is at the far end, the old display cabinet on the right houses bottles of polish and rattle cans. The floor was really rough concrete so tonight I've given it a layer of latex screed, I lost about a bucket of the stuff in a small crack, it just kept going and going until I plugged it, I imagine a bucket of screed is at this moment bubbling out of a storm drain in China! Anyway it's slowly becoming a nicer place to be whilst tinkering with the e30 over winter. Any ideas to improve it further greatly received! Understand though, once the e30 is parked in it there isn't vast empty space. No pool tables or sofas I'm afraid.

Got the suspension built back up on the Disco, looks ace, drives nice but can feel it's slightly more wayward on the road with the extra lift, also the steering doesn't self centre too great, may invest in an RTC (return to centre) steering damper. Bunged it in for an MOT sat morning (though it's not due till the 18th), passed with no advisories Will take a pic if it ever stops raining

Bump, for a Tuesday. Well I started this on Tuesday. The garage just needed a sort out, it's been bugging me for a while, it's nothing special but it's becoming a nicer place to be. It'll be worth it. I spend the weekend in my garage which is now nearly done, and it was a nice place to be working on a car. My update from last week should have been this : I decided to carpet my garage floor... £80 for 100 50x50cm ex-office floor tiles, in a suitable colour First test to see if they would fit and suit the room Which lead to The day after I got the bit on the right hand side nearly complete too (I still need to do the last set of tiles next to the wall, but need to cut them all and that is a pain). With the car back in : Still LOTS of tidying and removing of stuff to do. However I made no garage progress this weekend because blown_imp came over and we did a bit of this : I had an argument with a wire brush on a drill and ended up with this Which doesn't look a whole lot different, but it doesn't over heat and the car is a lot less likely to burst into flames now. I'll update my build thread eventually with full details of what we did. Good times. We also recorded a Podcast episode, which was pretty cool. Going to get another one done and then we can put them out there. Hurrah!

I've started working a little on the Maser, hopefully a few things will be done to it in the next few weeks/months. I would really, really like to make it to RRG16 in it.

I managed to bodge/repair the water damaged central locking control unit on the Octavia, meaning I could refit the door card (so i don't have to open the door to get through barrier at work, yay lol) also means I managed to de-deadlock the back door so it now opens (disconected the plug as soon as it opened), tomorrow I will be installing a new latch mech in that door so the door card can go back.
Boring progress I know but it makes a huge difference having things that work on a daily.

I finally managed to fix the N/S Headlight on Wifes Accord. For the last 3 weeks, it has been VERY intermittent. Every damn day I would set her off on her way to work with a working pair but when she picks me up from Work, back to only one!
Turns out it wasn't a loose connection - It was the bulb all along (Hairline crack meaning when I gave it a Fonz bang, it worked - until the 1st pot hole!)

I discovered what was broken on my e36 - the propshaft donut which I'd fitted new when I did the engine and box conversion! Lesson learned: don't use cheap Q-Drive donuts. German-made Febi one has now arrived, so I'll be doing that job soon and hoping it lasts more than 12 months.
Meantime I'm driving the Patrol, which is fun but expensive on juice.

Started to get back on my E36. Had a whatsapp from voodoo to say the BBS RZs are pretty much finished (just caps to do): And put a cheeky offer on these that was accepted. Just got to fit the GT wing and fit the replacement motor and will probably sell it on to fund an E28 (will be keeping the RZs for that)
