whats up with the 2.0 GL auto? Looks tidy from the outside at least. I might have some bits off that if you are selling... no, it may look okay on the photo, but that was taken when I bought it in January 2005 after being outside for the winter of 2005/2006 it simply rotted away: from this to this theres not much left now all the auto bits, autobox, rad, pedal box gone to newcastle to convert a 2.0 manual interior - in the loft sun roof - going in a transit front subframe - in the shed rear axle - in the shed glass, doors, wheel arches, bonnet, boot, loom - in the shed the rest just needs cutting up and giving to the local scrap man

Having had a mk5 for a few years now I have to say I love the shape. It is a very fine sharp suited looking car and more than deserves recognition in its own right rather than living in the shadows of the mk3. In fact, I think I'm starting to prefer it to the mk3. As for some pics, here's a couple from my collection: My current desktop image: A car fairly local to me. It's a 1.6 bit the engines been painted so that's ok. I can't wait to park my old stock looking 24 valver next to it at next years Andover car show. And a real sleeper: I'm afraid I have no details of that last one other than that the owner purposely keeps a flat cap in the glove box to wear whilst driving to complete the illusion! ;D Mine can be seen here: www.escortupgrades.co.uk/Other%20Stuff/Cortina/Cooltina!.htm Smiler.

Wheres the best place to buy them the ones on ebay look pretty shoddy lots of "surface" rust thats probably hiding rot underneath (like my estate was immaculate from outside but had no inner wings lol). I really want one now got loads of spares and a few spare v6s which could be stuck in.
Smiler get the front hubs on the bay I sold mine for £120, and the same guy bought a pair of princess 4 pots I hat to fit on em for £130 lol.

remember folks, Life on Mars 2 is going to be set in the 80's so expect Gene Hunt to be safely installed in a lovely 2.3 Ghia with alloys and front spots in metallic bronze.
Watch Mk4/5 values go ga ga soon after.

So what you're saying is that now would be a good time to invest in one or two of them!!!
Dammit, my driveway's full, and I know where there's a few lying around too!! I think they're intended for bangering.

I think they're intended for bangering. Well i'd find out what they intend to use first. I'm guessing Gene will have been promoted in the intervening years so he may have a Granny this time round. If so buy Granny's sell Corty's oooh it's like the stock exchange!
