I said I'd have an Alfa (just the once) and it had to be a Busso V6 and I've run this for the last year and about 8,000 miles. It's been a blast, but work have just given me a car allowance and apparently I'm not allowed to turn up in this any more.
I've replaced the battery in the last month (with an actual new one with a receipt) and it's also had one new flexi welded in the exhaust, new rear ARB polybushes, a top arm on the front suspension, a couple of tyres and most importantly the MAF, which brought it right up to full health. The second flexi and a pair of discs and pads are included in the sale, as I haven't needed to fit them - my mistake thinking the Brembo pads were low, when they start out looking low. It also comes with a good secondhand spare coilpack from when I was chasing the engine fault.
Features that work all the time: electric front seat adjustment, heated front seats, Climate control, electric windows, the traction and stability control (which is very good), the engine, gearbox, clutch and brakes
Features that sometimes work: the central locking (although it can always be worked by pressing the locks down manually and locking the driver's door), the self-cancelling on the left hand indicator
Features that do not work: remote central locking, alarm (all there but disconnected as key doesn't work), cruise control, electric folding mirror on passenger side (it goes halfway in and halfway out), the boot light, the CD changer (needs a magazine for it)
This is someone's opportunity to try out the Busso V6 for about the price of an engine, but with a whole car thrown in around it. There are only 200ish V6 manual 166s left in the UK, so this chance won't come around very often.
