Hi. I’ve T25 ‘87 Syncro RHD and I’m looking to get a power steering for it my fiancée finds it hard to turn the wheel when the wehicle is stationary or slow moving. Could you send me ordering details please? Kind regards Martin
Been selling these on e-bay for a while now and as i have a couple in stock thought i'd offer one up here in case there is any interest.
This is a complete modified electric power steering kit to fit a Volkswagen T-25 van. It uses a Vauxhall Corsa C Epas column and combines it with an original t25 column. The kit includes the modified column with matching ECU, an adjustable speed signal controller, a full wiring kit including terminals, heat shrink, wire and a 50 Amp fuse with holder. All my kits come with the correct terminals installed on new wire for the Blue power plug, unlike a lot of other kits that just supply standard large yellow crimp terminals that work loose after a while.
This column bolts in using the original 4 mounting holes (new allen bolts supplied for lower mount as space is limited for getting a socket in) There are then only 6 wires to connect and you need to mount the ecu and adjuster knob. It is as easy as that to have power steering in you van, just a couple of hours work.
The column accepts the original switch gear, ignition barrel, and steering wheel. Plus the steering lock and horn still work as they did. The cowling fits back on but requires a little trimming to the lower right to go around the motor
The lower link has been modified to connect to the original steering joint.
All of the corsa columns I sell have been checked and the torque sensors adjusted if required.
Price is £300 delivered by courier or £290 collected from Harrogate North Yorkshire. I also offer a £40 refund against your old steering column
Postage price is to UK Mainland excluding Highlands and Islands, please contact me for prices to these places. I will not ship out of the UK
Hi I have you kit fitted to a t25 Ive just bought. it works lovely but what does the adjustment knob do. It could do with being a little less light to use, would that help? I haven’t found it yet!
Yes the adjustment dial is there to set the amount of assistance to the column. Turning it anti clockwise will reduce the base assistance level. Fully anti clockwise turns the system off so don't go that far. To find the adjuster follow the black wire from the column to the ecu, then follow the wires from the white plug at the ecu to the small speed controller box, then the yellow/purple wires from the controller will lead you to the dial.
Ok thanks for that. I’ll give it a go. However I’ve just noticed I have play in steering column at the top. I can see nothing else moving below, it’s 2-3mm play approximately. Is there anything to adjust that can remove that play? Thanks
Hi, I have an 1987 left hand drive T3 and I want to install your power steering on it. As I am in Romania and can not give steering column back, please send me ordering details. Please tell me if I may name an acquaintance in the UK so you can mail the item to. Thank you.
