I would like to buy a proper GT which fits the following requirements:
1. MUST be rear wheel drive.
2. Front engine
3. Manual transmission
4. Must have a back seat or at least a 2+2.
5. Must be 2 doors. Better if coupe or fastback. But not a must. Although not interested in sedans such as a BMW 3 series or hatchbacks such as a Golf.
6. Must be a classic or older model. So nothing new. But also nothing too old. I love a GT6. But I need something more modern with at least some current creature comforts. So I'm thinking it will need to be 80's or 90's. So an young classic.
7. Would love for it to look muscular.
8. I want something reliable. Something that I won't spend more time repairing it than driving it.
9. Can't cost an arm and a leg. How much is an arm and a leg? Well if it costs as much as a new comparable car, then it's double too much.
10. Not interested in something too small. Remember this is supposed to be a proper GT. So think Jaguar XJS rather than Opel Manta.
11. Not interested on anything by BMW.
12. Minimum 6 Cyl engine. V8 even better.
13. Needs to be readily available in Europe.
14. Needs to be LHD.
XKR unfortunately fails on your requirements 8 & 9 in a big way. They were a lovely car when new but at 12 years old be warned that there might be some very large bills ahead making a younger model cost effective in the long run. Bills aren't going to be the same as a normal everyday car but many time that. Not a problem if you know what you are letting yourself in for but will be a shock if you expect to pay £50 for a part and get told it's £500. Even normal consumables like brake parts, tyres, exhaust and such will fall into that bracket.
