there was a case recently where two lads racin each other drivin dangerously etc ( not sure if p*ssed) took out a 30 something mum of kids killin her outright after they ploughed into her at high speeds on an A road...she was innocently comin the other way
lads got identified and went on the run..they didnt give a f*ck...
then one or both of thems grandad got ploughed down by a drunk driver while innocently walkin down the street and killed.... they felt the pain and handed themselves in...
no offence Kee but to call that dude ya talkin about a mate is an honour he don't deserve.... most ppl would think he doesnt deserve to walk on this earth let alone be called a mate!!

I'm worried about the poor sods that get hit/ mamed etc by disqualified/drink drivers. don't think anyone would think it was heroic if it happened to them or their family .Personally,I think anyone who d/d's etc is acomplete t****er.

I always thought people who were caught driving under a ban got a real ![](http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/underwire/2009/11/fox_60.jpg) raping. Contempt of court or something, disobeying the magistrate. Back to the original question, If your "mate" was stopped by an officer and given a ticket in person the 14 day rule doesnt apply as the NIP has been issued there and then. If he incriminated himself by admitting the the officer he was speeding thats it, game over, no chance at all of fighting it even if its proven the police were using potatos instead of a radar gun. I think for doing 60 in a 30 he could expect a trip to court and possibly 6 points and a meaty fine.

Sorry to thread jack again ... A family I knew had /has their son in prison for throwing a guy off the 8th floor of a tower block (where my parents used to live) He went in to prison yrs ago at about 17/18 yrs old Hadnt been in trouble before that . (may be out now) His father reckoned the lad said he didnt want to come out of nick cos he had better mates in there than when he was on the outside . Definitely a carreer crim now Id say !

& I think for doing 60 in a 30 he could expect a trip to court and possibly 6 points and a meaty fine. Except that he's already on 12 points and went to court six months ago with 12 on his license only to escape a ban and be put on "warning; with the proviso that if he was done again he'd be looking at 18 month minimum. Well, he can't say he wasn't well warned. edit - on and the cops did apparently say at the roadside that they would be prosecuting, maybe for due care as well as speeding, to which he apparently replied along the lines of "fair enough, you got me, or similar, so I guess he's kippered!
