Agreed, super day out, lots of interesting motors going up the hill, really good club stands, nice one RR, was my first gathering, will definitely be heading to the next, as said, shame about the rain but hey this is england, such a shame about the volvo, after to chatting to a lady who witnessed the whole thing, aparently the exhaust was soo hot it set alight to the grass, big respect to the fast thinking range rover driver who towed it away from other cars, whilst it was on fire.

Would like to say had a great day got wet but that was small price to pay. Felt for the person with the volvo that got ruined a the site. On the way home about 5 miles from the event came round the corner to see a volvo estate in a field. A local man that drove a renault 5 said he would would get a land rover to get the car out of the field top man who ever you are.

Fantastic weekend, properly brilliant every year. Huge thanks to HoTWire and all involved who give their valuable time to help organise and not to mention clean up after all of us. Really sorry to hear about the Volvo, that is truly tragic. I'd be surprised if it were caused by the exhaust on wet grass though. All of the disposable barbecues that were sat on it couldn't set it on fire so I'd imagine there was more to it than that. A few tens of inches of rain didn't dampen spirits though, great people, great cars and all in all another amazing experience.

Sorry to hear about the volvo, I thought the same about the grass. But my mates mk1 polo was closest to the Volvo, on the same row, and after 2 or 3 minutes tickover he had to move after a couple of us saw smoke from the underneath, leaving burned grass behind.
Enough to cause a fire? I duno, there were burned grass all over the field

Much obliged, chaps! So, to sum up... I got up at half past five to start a 396-mile round trip (made slightly longer and more awkward by the main road up from my neck of the woods being shut due to a plane falling on it yesterday) to drive in a cramped, uncomfortable, noisy, smelly and above all, unreliable old jalopy to a sheep-turd-encrusted field on a hillside somewhere on the event horizon of civilisation only to spend a brief hour looking at other disreputable old jalopies before the weather turned into something that would have had Noah tapping the barometer and wondering if he'd packed enough doves... and then within ten seconds I was as wet as if I'd just opened the front door on a submarine... and then spend the next few hours foraging out with the illusory shelter of an umbrella to kid myself I was taking photos when in reality all I was doing was filling my camera with water... and THEN drive four hours home with the miasma of wet socks added to all the previously-aforementioned danger to life features of the car... and my hat still hasn't dried out. Nor has my camera Good day out? Too ****ing right! Thanks for having us, much appreciated and thanks for all the effort in putting on such a great do

Big thanks from me. Relaxed marshalling was nice to see. Good to see a timetable of events this year which was part of my feedback from last year. Such a great variety of cars, styles, and people across the whole field. I hope to see lots of photos as a toddler and rain restricted how much I got to see. Can we have an on-site crèche next year?

It was an amazing time, loved all the stuff up the hill, in the paddock and on the field. I got beached a few times so thanks to anyone that pushed me out! I also accidentally met a very nice chap who I was later told is the one and only Kev from Wales..

As always, big thanks to everyone involved in organizing the whole event ;D
Shame about the weather, but as far as I can remember RRG has always been very lucky with show day weather so had to have a rainy one at some point!

Really good weekend, has some good runs up the hill too. Organisation was great, and so was the marshalling at shelsley, proper top blokes, so thanks to them for keeping everyone safe.
I did notice we were two lancias and a group C down though... what was that about?
