In January I decided to sell my E46 320d and replace it with this rattly old mk2 TDi - to do 20k/year in.....
I won't bore you with a ton of pictures of all the bits that broke, but essentially it started out looking like this,
Trim missing, bumpers and splitter held on with zip ties, gears wouldn't engage, exhaust was blowing and knocking, rear doorcards were damp, boot carpet was covered in diesel, one shock was knackered, engine light came on after 30 minutes, seats rattled and didn't move properly, none of the locks worked, the drivers door hinges were knackered, clutch pedal was 4 inches too high, centre caps all broken and held on with silicone, the rear calipers were both seized and the brakes were spongy.
Have I sold it to you yet?
So the last 6 months have seen me draining more money into it than its probably worth, but hey, its quite nearly there now and it drives great with an M-TDi conversion, mk4 golf and gti calipers/master cylinder, custom exhaust, new coilovers/wishbones/ball joints/droplinks etc and looks pretty good too with some new wheels, a bit more lowering and painted bumpers, new grille and headlights etc.
Here is how it was looking last weekend after a rare wash (with warm water and an old t-shirt)...

Future plans are a bit more performance from the engine and tidy up some of the worse places of bodywork.
Thanks for having a look, feel free to ask any questions, poke fun or just leave a comment.
