Well not quite all done.  It never will be, that’s why we’re all here, there will always be a little something. I’ve never really been a fan of these era MGs. My neighbour when I was a child had a super mint green and gold rubber bumper model which I always thought was cool. I do however really like these bubble arched versions, I always like the bubble arch fords, it seems to reinvent the original car and I think they look fantastic for it. Blinding car and you should be very pleased with yourself. I would be. |

Well, this one certainly looks a lot different now! EX MG Drag Racing club car. We knew it as "The Nerd". Used to belong to a friend of mine. When I was a teenager I did a V8 conversion on my own BGT and the owner offered to let me run this car for a year so I could do my V8 swap at a more relaxed pace and still have something fun to run around in. The original engine in this car was tired on it's last legs when I got the keys. Wouldn't run much more than 65mph and burned a lot of oil. If you were cruising at 60 and put your foot down, you didn't go any quicker, you just varied the amount of smoke coming out the back depending on the throttle position! Since the owner had been kind enough to give me the car for a while I decided that since I had a hot B series sat around doing nothing that had just come out of my car, I decided to give my mate back his car with my old overbored stage 2 engine installed as a thankyou. If you still have the engine, then it's bit special - at least it was circa 15 years ago... Would *almost* keep up with a supercharged car, would happily hit 6k every gear change with the odd burst up to almost 7k if you felt brave enough. Last 3 digits of the engine number are 457 if it's the same engine?    |
