this is a general what do you think and a ramble;
well it took me 5 weeks to get it back on the road between waiting for the wheels and actually driving it again. mostly as i ordered the wheels from superlight and 4 weeks later they had'nt even started making them! so i told them to stick it and luckily this set turned up in the back of retro cars mag! £80 and a good clean and paint later I'm on the road!
in other chevette news the 2l 16v xe i built over summer has now been sold as i ran out of £ as usual! wose still its gone to some chav, who as i was loading it into the back of his car asked me if i knew how much it would be to have the cam lid chromed. gutted. oh well, so now I'm lucking to move to manta power but its likely thatthis will not be till summer as I'm at uni (it has a lot to answer for!) but ive bought a big valve head and a hotter cam to go in at xmas so should help. still no roll cage though.
i have to admit whils looking at knackered old mantas for their engines and boxes i have grown to want one quite a lot. it would have to be a manta c coupe. the only prob is insurace is a bit dear for me (I'm only 20!) so it might be up for sale. i blame ebay!
anyway for now the chevette is mint and I'm loving the sideways action and its faster than my mates mk1 eccy!!
ill shut up now just nice to talk to similarly minded enthusisats as the missus is sick of hearing bout it!!
ps while i think about it would anyone be interested in a reto rides meet up in Swansea area?
