Just read the whole thread from start to finish. Excellent work, can't wait to see it finished. Wish I still had my Brat, but it was scrapped a few years ago. Will have to drag my Skoda Favorit Pick Up out the garage and get stuck into that. Love the colour, what is it from? Really kind of you buddy. Unfortunately alot of them do end up getting scrapped because the rot is too far done. I guess i got pretty lucky. I've always like the Favorit pick up, ever since they came out. My dad borrowed a brand new one and i loved it. The colour is from any car. I picked it out from the RAL colour chart. Originally it was going to be a pastel green. Glad i went for this in the end.

Excellent work on the Brat and a REALLY good choice in colour! I do favour towards the steel wheels, but I understand the weight issue. Keep up the great work! Thank you! i love the colour too, it's really hard to capture how great the colour is in pictures. I love the steelies too. My buddy is having them, so if i change my mind at some point i could always get them back.

Got some more work done today, there are so many little things i had a hard job staying in one place on the car. Decided that sorting out the front end would be the best thing as it's probably the biggest aspect that hadn't been assembled. The chin spoiler on the floor still needs fettling to sit right. Had to extend it to fit from wing to wing.

Brand new! The very first uk cars came with it. The splitter is off a golf, needs bit of work to get it to fit. I'm tempted by a smoked or yellow tint for the lights. I've plasti-dipped the grill and surrounds to get rid of the chrome

Mines been waiting 3 months I knew i wouldn't be the only one haha, i need to finish mine off properly to stop it flexing in the middle. To be honest I'm really lucky that my friend has a bodyshop. I did all the prep work before i took it up there. But yeah, couple of weeks and it was done!

That is awesome! Great colour choice. I can't decide what wheels I like best though? I can't wait to see it finished. This one is quite nice, but yours is 100% better. 1979 Subaru BRAT by Kevin Talley, on Flickr

I love both wheels, the black because they look so mean and the alloys because they look so unique, and weight half that the steelies do. I'm very familiar with Kevin and his gen 1. He's a super nice guy and helped me out loads. I need a Gen 1 to complete the collection haha.

Been flat out at work recently, but I've got four days off as of Friday and I'm aiming to get it MOT'd on Saturday. Fingers crossed.
They'll be updates on Friday for sure!

Well, had to ditch getting the brat MOT'd. I really set myself a huge amount of things to get sorted the day before. Ran into a few issues, nothing major but I wasn't happy so decided to wait and not rush it. But I've spend two days in the garage working on it, so that makes me happy. Still got a load of things to do. Little things mainly, but it's looking like the image I had in my head from day one.
