Ah I have to be honest and admit I was t paying much attention to that kind of thing this morning, I usually do!
There was a lot of chaps working on the fella in the lorry. Please pass my thanks on to them though, everyone I met last night was fantastic.

Bloody hell, glad you're okay! Trucks pack a serious punch... Maybe the Mercedes Vito is not a bad car, but CURSED? Production plant built on an old graveyard or something

Production plant built on an old graveyard or something They sure do as my neck and lower back will tell you. Thing was fully loaded as well so had firmer punch than they usually do. Haha possibly. Being of the tinkering type no matter how hard I tried they wouldn't let me take the van home. Gutting!

Shocked at that, so glad you're okay. One way to look at it - If you hadn't bought the Vito, the lorry driver would have still fallen asleep and hit something, but it could have been a family in an older car, thus wiping them out. So by buying the Vito, you have saved other peoples lives

So by buying the Vito, you have saved other peoples lives And at the end of the day we've only lost a vito! It could have been a VW after all and that would have been more of a vehicular casualty than a rusty old vito. My partner kept crying "but your van is wrecked" I said "it's only a curse word vito! Don't worry about it!"

I'd rather the world lost another VW but thats me lol. I hope it hasn't put you off getting another, if you think the N/A one was swift enough you should try a 110CDI, mine was deceivingly quick and had no issues keeping pace with Vivaro's or Transporters I think about another most of the time but like I said previous the cost of them puts them in big Transit and Iveco territory where you do get much more for your money.

Ah certainly not, I would sure get another one. The reason I went for the 108D was because it would seem as though they didn't suffer the injection problems. Only problem I found with my 108D was that it was seriously slow uphill, that and the gearbox was awful, but bearable.
I used to own a ford ranger King cab before my vito, I loved the thing, so at the minute a ranger is at the top of the list. Above the ranger at the minute is the modified Toyota surf in the classified section but I can't get a reply.

I bought a 639 115 and to be fair it seems pretty good and it means avoiding the t4 overpricing. From what i have read the 639 are a bit more mechanically sound but until 06 can still suffer with rust. I'm happy with if for what i paid. Only real problem is lowering it 40 mm just isnt low enough. looking at making coilovers

I was looking at coilovers. Pointless now however. Later ones are RWD aren't they?

From my brief reading that does appear to be the limiting factor. However the front struts look super similar to items I've removed from VWs and Audis. Wonder if you can chop and change.
Not that it's relevant in my case.
